The community is still reeling, and in the wake of this disaster, owners Nat and Renae desperately need the industry's help and support. We're told that the even sadder part of the story is that insurance companies won't insure anyone in Lismore for floods, and as such, they have literally lost everything, as the video below shows.
Before the floods hit, in preparation, family, friends and locals headed into the Lismore CBD to help retail stores move stock & furniture into the higher mezzanine levels of the retail spaces to save them from the rising floodwaters. For some context, floods are typical of the Lismore area, and the local community is well-versed in managing them. They always rally when they know there is the potential for another surge. This is precisely why Nat and Renae chose the retail space they have built their business in. It had an excellent mezzanine and was big enough to house all of their display and retail stock if they ever needed it.

When Nat left the store on Sunday evening, he believed he had done everything he could to ensure his store was prepared and his retail stock was safe - leaving it in a position across two mezzanine levels above the store. Sadly, unexpected news broke early Monday morning that those levels had gone well above the previous flood record by another 3 metres! The entire store was submerged, and all stock was lost.
We appreciate that so many small businesses and families in Lismore have lost everything this time around, but perhaps we can rally around one of our own and provide just a little bit of assistance. Friend to Living Entertainment North Coast, Gabi Fifield has set up a Gofundme page, and you can contribute here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-nat-renae-clean-up-after-the-floods

We at StereoNET have done what we can with a small contribution, but if Nat and Renae have the strength and the means to rebuild, we'll also gladly support them further by donating one of our commercial advertising packages for two years to help kick things off.
