The Traveller is a compact headphone amplifier, designed to improve the sound quality from any portable audio player. It is entirely analogue. The player's headphone output is plugged into the Traveller's input. This amplifies the signal by up to ten decibels. The listener's headphones are also plugged into the Traveller in order to receive this signal.
This does two things, says Lehmannaudio. First, the Traveller is inherently a better performer with headphones of all kinds than the amplifiers built into portable music players. Second, it relieves the load on those players so they're able to produce a higher quality signal for the Traveller than they could deliver to headphones.

Weighing only 200 grams, and measuring 80mm wide by 90mm tall and 25mm thick, it still manages to pack 4,000mAh of energy to power your headphones for as long as twenty hours. Its frequency response extends from 20Hz to 30kHz at -0.5dB, and it can deliver up to 12mW into 330 ohm headphones, and 120mW into 33 ohm headphones. It's charged from a regular 5 volt USB-style charger.
The traveller uses high quality components, including the all-important 3.5mm stereo sockets which are provided by German firm Lumberg.
The going price in Australia for the Lehmannaudio Traveller is around $780.
