Krix's distribution arm in Australia has been appointed the exclusive distributor for Artnovion Acoustics across Australia and New Zealand. The Adelaide-based distributor will represent Artnovion in both markets, with an initial focus on home cinema and media rooms, hi-fi listening spaces, and professional music production and broadcast environments. The partnership is also expected to expand into broader architectural and commercial sectors over time, including hospitality, healthcare, shared workspaces and wellness environments.

While it is a logical move for Krix Distribution, the timing is serendipitous. Outgoing distributor Cogworks, based in Queensland, yesterday entered voluntary administration, according to documents lodged with ASIC.

Artnovion has emerged as one of the premier acoustic-treatment brands on the market, and continued availability through a reputable distribution company will be welcome news for integrators, cinema designers, and enthusiasts. Founded and manufactured in Porto, Portugal, the company has built its reputation around acoustic products that combine engineering, material innovation and architectural design. Its range spans absorption, diffusion and bass control, with products aimed at both technical performance and visual integration.

Krix Distribution will also introduce Artnovion's ChromaX stretched-fabric range to Australia and New Zealand for the first time. Designed for premium home cinema applications, ChromaX uses Artnovion's proprietary aluminium profile system with an acoustically transparent fabric front, allowing genuine acoustic treatment to be integrated behind a continuous surface. According to Krix Distribution, ChromaX can combine absorption, diffusion and bass trapping within a single engineered installation, giving cinema designers and integrators a more flexible way to manage acoustic performance without compromising the room's visual finish.

Gary Krix, Managing Director of Krix, said the appointment reflects the company's engineering-led approach to system design.

Acoustics is fundamental to everything we do. Without appropriate acoustic control, you'll never be hearing your audio system at its full potential. Artnovion allows our partners to design complete environments with confidence.

Acoustic treatment plays a critical role across both residential and commercial spaces. In home cinema, listeners experience improved dialogue clarity, surround imaging and bass control. In hi-fi rooms, it helps reduce unwanted reflections and tonal imbalance. In commercial and wellness spaces, acoustic design contributes to comfort, intelligibility and overall user experience.

The appointment follows a recent visit to Artnovion's Porto facility by Krix's Don MacKenzie and Amanda Zimmermann, which included a factory and operations tour and product training. Krix says the visit reinforced alignment between the two companies on engineering detail, craftsmanship, and real-world performance.

Pre-orders for Artnovion products through Krix Distribution open in July 2026, with deliveries to Australian and New Zealand dealers expected from September 2026. Pricing will be announced closer to availability. Australian buyers will be able to purchase Artnovion products through authorised Krix Distribution partners.
