Klipsch Courtyard Plants Legendary Sound Outside

Klipsch has turned its attention to the backyard with the launch of the Courtyard Landscape Speaker system, a full-range 4.1 solution designed to deliver the company’s trademark horn-loaded sound in an outdoor setting.

Announced in Indianapolis, the new system promises year-round performance thanks to a weather-ready design and nearly 80 years of acoustic expertise
At its core, Courtyard is an all-in-one package featuring four horn-loaded satellite speakers, a low-profile subwoofer, and all necessary mounting hardware. Unlike piecemeal landscape solutions, this single-box approach is pitched as a convenient way to add hi-fi credibility to patios and gardens. Expansion is straightforward, too, with an optional two-pack of satellites or the ability to double up for a complete 8.2 system.

Each satellite employs Klipsch’s familiar Tractrix® horn technology, pairing a 4-inch woofer with a 1-inch tweeter in a tilting head assembly. Detachable stakes allow flexible placement, while the locking mechanism keeps angles fixed once dialled in. Music sources can be as simple as zone 2 on an AVR or a streaming amplifier, though Klipsch quickly notes the benefits of matching with Integra’s new outdoor-friendly amps.
Bass duties fall to a 10-inch subwoofer that can be partially buried or left above ground. With stake mounts, rotatable anchors, and a cable-management alcove to hide wiring, Klipsch has clearly considered practical installation challenges. The matte brown finish is intended to blend naturally into landscaping, and with an IPX7 rating, the system can withstand rain, snow, high-pressure water jets, and direct sunlight.

Out of the box, setup should be straightforward. Klipsch includes caps, silicone wire nuts, and even an Allen key – small touches suggesting the company expects many owners to install the system themselves rather than rely on custom integrators. The Klipsch Courtyard 4.1 Landscape Speaker System will be available from September through authorised Klipsch retailers, priced at US $1,799.99 for the complete 4.1 package, with the expansion pack of two additional satellites at US $599.99. Pricing for other regions, including UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe, will be confirmed shortly.
