JBL Launches New Products Celebrating 75 Years

After three-quarters of a century, JBL remains synonymous with epic sound. Throughout its remarkable history, JBL has remained true to the vision of audio excellence and innovation established by its founder James B. Lansing.

Marking the occasion across 2022, JBL has released many new products across its ranges, from lifestyle audio products through to its flagship Summit hi-fi and Synthesis home cinema ranges.

From the movie theatre to the home theatre, from Hi-Fi to headphones, from portable speakers to in-car audio, JBL has charted its own path and built a legacy of innovation.

The JBL FLIP portable Bluetooth speaker, now in its 6th generation, revolutionised sound on the go. Throw it in your suitcase when you go away, or plant it firmly beside your pool for Aussie summers (remember those?); the FLIP 6 is small enough to go anywhere but packs a mighty punch. The IP67 rating means it's resistant to dust and water, and the lithium battery means you'll enjoy up to 12 hours of playtime.

Dave Rogers, President, HARMAN Lifestyle Division, told StereoNET:

The new JBL Flip 6 best features from its predecessor, such as PartyBoost and the innovative racetrack driver, plus the Flip 6 now has a separate tweeter and dual passive radiators to give new depth and power to your music.

FLIP 6 is available now in eight different colours for $129.95.

The True Wireless earphone category has exploded in popularity over the past five years. JBL joins the party with its LIVE PRO 2 TWS. Its 'stick' design features 11mm dynamic drivers that promise to deliver JBL's Signature Sound.

Its True Adaptive Noise Cancelling with smart ambient enables users to adjust the amount of background noise they want to let in. This ensures you're aware of your surroundings or having conversations without having to remove the earbuds.

Its IPX5 waterproof and splashproof rating makes long runs in the elements worry-free, while the embedded six microphones isolate noise and wind to deliver superior call quality. With up to 40 hours of playback time, listeners can enjoy long stints at the gym, outdoors, on conference calls or settling in for their favourite podcast.

Available now in a choice of four colours, JBL LIVE Pro 2 TWS sells for $99.95.

Whether you're focused on every footstep or have your sights set way into the distance on Sniper Elite, gamers deserve good sound too. JBL has delivered its latest over-ear Wireless Bluetooth gaming headset in the Quantum 810 Wireless.

You'll feel like you're stepping inside the game with JBL QuantumSURROUND and DTS Headphone:X version 2.0 technology that lets you experience immersive, multichannel 3D audio all around you. Hi-Res 50mm drivers position even the tiniest audio details with pinpoint accuracy, from the twig snap of an enemy moving into position to the steps of a zombie horde shuffling up behind you.

Game all day and night with 43 hours of battery life that charges as you play. The lightweight, durable headband and premium leather-wrapped memory foam ear cushions are designed for total comfort. The direction voice-focus boom microphone with flip-up must and echo-cancelling technology means you'll always come through loud and clear.

Available now, JBL Quantum 810 Wireless sells for $199.95

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
