If you recall, we got a preview of the JBL HDI 1600 mini-monitors at the UK Hi-Fi Show Live 2019 in Ascot. Now we have the full details.

The range is said to be "a showcase of JBL's industry-leading acoustics technologies, delivering unrivalled performance in combination with elegant cabinetry and a modern design aesthetic."

The foundation of HDI's range is JBL's patented High-Definition Imaging waveguide technology coupled with the patented 2410H-2 high-frequency compression driver. Typical of the JBL sound, this combination delivers realistic dynamics, lifelike imaging, and that "you are there" presence for music and movies alike, says the company.

HDI woofers feature Advanced Aluminum Matrix cones and take advantage of core JBL engineering techniques for very high output with low distortion.

The HDI enclosures are heavily braced with the curved cabinet shape offering a modern design with no visible fasteners and magnetically attached grilles. There's a choice of premium finish options including painted high-gloss black, satin walnut wood veneer, and satin grey oak wood veneer.

The professional-grade compression drivers and HDI waveguides provide incredibly realistic dynamics and lifelike imaging that makes music and movies come alive.
