HMS Elektronik Marks 50 Years with Revitalised Cable and Power Lineup

HMS Elektronik is celebrating its golden anniversary in style, revealing a bold new chapter in its storied legacy at High End Munich 2025.

Once known primarily within Germany for its specialist audio cables and power filtration systems, HMS is now stepping firmly onto the global stage with refreshed product lines, modernised aesthetics, and the backing of International Audio Holding, parent company of Siltech and Crystal Cable.

Founded in 1975, HMS has long been respected for its technical precision and deep-rooted commitment to research-driven engineering. With its 50th year marking both a celebration and a relaunch, the brand’s integration into the International Audio Holding family in 2024 has allowed it to benefit from shared expertise and cutting-edge Dutch manufacturing capabilities. As a result, all new HMS products are now produced in the Netherlands, merging German engineering heritage with Dutch innovation.

The updated range unveiled in Munich includes the complete relaunch of HMS’s well-known cable and power filter products, from entry-level to flagship tiers. The Foundations series introduces high-performance speaker, interconnect, and power cables at accessible price points, designed for listeners wanting a clear step up from generic cabling. Concertato takes that one step further, refining shielding and inductance to offer a smooth, musical presentation ideal for mid-tier systems.

The Armonia Carbon series uses carbon-infused shielding to suppress interference while enhancing transparency and tonal balance for those pushing toward true high-end performance. The new Gran Finale 50 series, launched in honour of HMS’s milestone year, incorporates monocrystal copper and air-dielectric architecture for ultra-low signal loss and exceptional fidelity, intended for the most revealing systems.

Topping the cable lineup is the Suprema MC2, which fuses HMS’s proprietary cable know-how with Siltech and Crystal Cable innovations. Featuring monocrystal conductors and tuning switches to suit system preferences, the company says it’s a flagship solution built for ultimate system synergy.

Equally vital to HMS’s ethos is clean power. The Energia line of power filters returns with a broad range from entry-level to the flagship RC4/3 model, each designed to combat noise, distortion, and grounding issues through patented GLS (Ground Loop Suppression) and DCS (Direct Current Suppression) technologies. HMS says these filters help unlock better dynamics, provide more accurate imaging, and lower the noise floor.

High End Munich 2025 visitors can explore the full HMS range in Atrium 4.1, Room F130, from now until Sunday the 18th of May. It’s a rare chance to witness the evolution of a respected brand—one that now enters its second half-century with a global outlook and an even sharper focus on performance.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
