Hisense has officially announced Australian availability of its 116-inch TriChroma RGB Mini-LED TV. The flagship 116UX model will arrive in September, making it the largest consumer-grade television ever offered in the country.

First unveiled at CES in Las Vegas earlier this year and since rolled out to major markets in Asia, US and parts of Europe, Australia now gets its turn with what Hisense is positioning as the ultimate expression of big-screen television. The 116UX also headlines the brand’s new 2025 UX Series, which it says is the world’s first consumer TV lineup to harness RGB Mini-LED technology at this scale.

Kevin Ke, Hisense Group Managing Director for ANZ, said the new series represents a defining moment in the company’s trajectory:

The 2025 UX Series marks a defining moment in Hisense’s legacy of innovation — an uncompromising fusion of scale, sophistication, and next-generation RGB-MiniLED technology. As global leaders in the category, we’re proud to deliver the largest consumer-grade TVs ever seen in Australia, designed not just to entertain, but to transform the home into a world-class cinematic destination.

Unlike conventional Mini-LED TVs that rely on a white light source and colour filters, Hisense’s TriChroma approach uses dedicated red, green, and blue Mini-LEDs, generating light that’s spectrally pure at the source. This allows the 116UX to achieve an extraordinary 95% of the BT.2020 colour gamut, well beyond the typical wide colour ranges in standard premium TVs. Combined with over 10,000 local dimming zones and the ability to hit up to 8,000 nits peak brightness, it delivers immense contrast and minute shadow detail — even in brightly lit rooms, thanks to Hisense’s Anti-Reflection PRO tech.

The company’s flagship Hi-View AI Engine X drives the hardware, paired with Dolby Vision, IMAX Enhanced certification, and sophisticated AI 4K upscaling. It’s all wrapped in a chassis that measures less than 40mm thick, an impressive engineering feat for a screen of this magnitude.

Audio is just as ambitious. The 116UX packs a built-in 6.2.2 CineStage X surround system tuned to Opéra de Paris | Devialet standards. Side-mounted speakers inspired by harp-like lines create a soundstage that tracks on-screen action, with Dolby Atmos spatial processing delivering immersive, room-filling effects — from hushed dialogue to roaring crowds.

Hisense says the UX range is designed to be more than a statement piece. It’s intended to transform everyday living rooms into fully fledged cinematic spaces, combining scale, design finesse, and the latest visual and audio technology. According to the company, these new models are a testament to their commitment to pushing boundaries in big-screen entertainment, giving consumers who want the absolute pinnacle of home viewing a larger-than-life option that’s hard to ignore.

The 116UX will land in Australian stores this September for A$39,999, joined by its slightly smaller sibling, the 100UX, at A$22,999.
