Positioned within the company’s Divin range, the Monarque is effectively a scaled interpretation of the statement-level Divin Majestic, aimed at systems where the flagship’s size and installation requirements are less practical, but without stepping away from its underlying design philosophy.

That positioning is telling. Rather than introducing an entirely new direction, Göbel appears to be extending its existing platform into a more manageable, albeit still uncompromising, form factor.

The Divin Monarque is a three-way, high-sensitivity bass reflex design, built around dual 15-inch bass drivers, dual 8-inch midrange units, and a revised AMT tweeter coupled to a substantial aluminium waveguide. Sensitivity is rated at 96dB, with a quoted frequency response of 21Hz to 24kHz into a nominal 4-ohm load.

As with other Göbel designs, enclosure construction is central to the concept. The cabinet uses a constrained-layer composite structure with extensive internal bracing, Helmholtz resonators, and a decoupled aluminium front baffle with wall thicknesses reaching up to 105mm. The entire assembly is delivered as a single-piece enclosure, removing the need for on-site stacking or assembly.

Physically, it remains a substantial loudspeaker by any measure. Each unit stands just under two metres tall and weighs 380kg, shipped in a flight case to facilitate installation. Finish options include a standard piano black with gold leaf detailing, though Göbel states that custom finishes will be available on request, consistent with the brand’s positioning in the ultra high-end segment.

In a statement, the company said the aim was to bring the “sound qualities, technologies and design properties” of the Divin Majestic into a more accommodating format, while maintaining the same overall performance intent.

Pricing reflects that ambition. The Divin Monarque is expected to start at €469,000 per pair in Europe. Göbel High End will present the new model publicly at the Vienna High End show, where it is likely to be positioned as a more accessible entry point into the Divin platform, albeit still firmly within statement territory.
