The newstalgia bug shows no signs of slowing, and the retro-tastic Wesley headphones from Gadhouse are a prime example.

While we still have great love for a set of Koss Porta Pro, there is no denying that the skinny metallic headband and foam ear pads come from a time when the Sony Walkman was bleeding-edge portable audio tech, only to be succeeded by the Discman.
So, with the release of FiiO's CP13 portable cassette deck and the company's DM13 disc spinner, alongside Shanling's EC Zero T valve-packing portable CD player, it is no surprise to see some equally retro headphones joining the fray.

Tipping the scales at a featherweight 105g, these new headphones eschew noise-cancelling and fancy app-controlled EQ, but do offer USB-C, 3.5mm, and 6.3mm adapters, as well as an in-line mic for hands-free calls.
Petch Watcharaphon, CEO of Gadhouse, told StereoNET:
The Wesley headphones are a tribute to an era when music was tactile and deeply personal. We wanted to revive the spirit of the decade with a design that feels both timeless and relevant today.

We're not expecting these to scare any of the on- or over-ear headphone models we have reviewed recently, but that's not how Gadhouse is pitching the Wesley. However, if you are looking to get wired for sound as we did in the eighties, now, that's another matter.
The Gadhouse Wesley is available from September and will sell for £59 | US$69.
