Franco Serblin Accordo Essence Loudspeaker Launched

Franco Serblin Accordo Essence Floorstanding Loudspeaker Launched
Of course, the name Franco Serblin was once synonymous with Sonus faber, the company he started. Since then, the Italian speaker maestro continued his passion for creating high-end loudspeakers. His name lives on and joining the existing trio of beautifully-crafted speakers offered by the Franco Serblin Studio, is the £12,998 Accordo Essence.

Poised to see its official launch at High End Munich 2020, the three-way, ported floorstanding loudspeaker features an attractively curved design that is said to eliminate standing waves in the housing, which is handmade by Italian artisans. The super-rigid, arch-shaped solid wood structure is decoupled by aluminium-magnesium parts selected for its resonance control.
The drivers include a 29mm silk-dome tweeter by Ragnar Lian, a 150mm custom-made microsphere cone which, we are told, is optimised for the best control of cone break-up. Behind this is a symmetrical drive motor system. Finally, the woofer is a 180 mm microsphere cone which sports an aluminium dust cap. The result is a claimed in-room frequency response of 35Hz-22KHz, a nominal impedance of 4 ohms with a quoted sensitivity of 88dB/2.83V/1m.
The uniquely designed fronts of the Franco Serblin Accordo Essence ensures that there is no obstruction in the sound, as well as being visually attractive. The wooden cabinet sits on aluminium spiked feet.
The Franco Serblin Accordo Essence is available now in a solid walnut finish with chrome metal accents for £12,998 per pair.
