Emotiva's BasX MR1 cinema receiver boasts a 13.2-channel processor and "audiophile-quality" 11-channel amplifier in a single chassis. Meanwhile, the BasX MC1 is described as "the processor section of the MR1 designed for system builders with existing power amplifiers or a preference for pre/power systems".

Furthermore, thanks to the MR1's linear Class H power supply (featuring a massive 1,000 VA toroidal transformer), we're told it possesses prodigious reserves of dynamic power at the disposal of the latest Dolby Atmos and DTS:X immersive surround sound formats.

Also, there are six HDMI inputs, all supporting HDMI 2.0b and HDCP 2.2, 4k UHD video, and HDR (including HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision). In addition, there are twin HDMI 2.0 b-compliant HDMI video outputs, the primary output supporting both ARC and eARC.

The Emotiva BasX MC1 sports a slender (79mm) chassis and features the 13.2 channel AV processing power of the MR1, an identical input/output design, EmoQ automatic room correction (mic included) and the easy control/system configuration options offered by the MR1 receiver.
