Elipson Prestige Facet II Loudspeaker Series Rethought

Elipson touts its new optimised Prestige Facet II speaker range as the fruit of its ongoing commitment to sonic excellence and manufacturing quality.
Elipson's last Prestige Facet revamp came in 2018 with its 80th anniversary model; however, we're told that the ten-model strong Prestige Facet II series distinguishes itself through "aesthetic and technical improvements" and promises to satisfy even the most demanding audiophiles.

Spanning two bookshelf models (6B and 8B), three floorstanding towers (14F, 24F, and 34F), two centre channel options (11C and 14C) alongside Atmos, surround and LCR models, Elipson's new Prestige Facet II line has two-channel and multichannel systems seemingly covered.

The standmounters are two-way bass reflex designs, one with a 5-inch and the other with a 7-inch mid/bass unit mated with a 1-inch tweeter, whereas the floorstanders go up through 2.5-way, 3-way and 3.5-way, depending on which size model you choose. The range-topping 34F sports a 1-inch tweeter, 2 x 7-inch mids, and a pair of 10-inch woofers in its 3.5-way, 94dB / 1W / 1m sensitive design.
The front panel of the Prestige Facet II is now blessed with a "high-end satin finish" instead of the previous gloss finish. Elipson says this gives the speakers a more modern and smoother appearance.

The three floorstanding models now feature new decoupling feet with a more contemporary design, offering a visually lighter but mechanically reinforced base.
Additionally, cabinet rigidity has been improved by extra internal reinforcements, whose geometry has been redesigned to provide better mechanical support for the loudspeakers. This structural optimisation reduces parasitic resonances, improves bass response and ensures a more linear response, particularly at high volumes.

Also redesigned for this range is the Prestige Facet II's passive crossover, which now incorporates "high-quality audiophile components" such as polypropylene film capacitors, metal-coated resistors, and low DCR inductors. We are told that this overhaul of the crossover network results in better channel separation, smoother frequency response and a more coherent, natural soundstage.

The internal wiring has also been upgraded with 2.25 mm² OFC (Oxygen Free Copper), guaranteeing optimum conductivity and loss-free signal transmission between crossover components and loudspeakers. Elipson adds that this particular attention to cabling quality contributes to the overall fidelity and transparency of the listening experience.

The entire Prestige Facet II series is now available in black, white, and black/walnut finishes. Prices are as follows:
- Bookshelf - 6B (£499/549 per pair), 8B (£699/€799 per pair)
