ELAC ConneX DCB61 Brings Hi-Fi Sound to Any Room

Bringing together bigger drivers, dedicated amps, and a full suite of digital and analogue inputs, ELAC’s DCB61 sets out to prove that convenience doesn’t have to come at the cost of hi-fi sound.

Building on the success of the award-winning DCB41, ELAC has unveiled the ConneX DCB61 — a larger, more powerful take on the brand’s compact powered speaker formula. With beefed-up drivers, smarter connectivity, and a sleek design available in four finishes, the DCB61 aims to bring serious hi-fi performance to living rooms that want simplicity without sacrificing sound.
Within each speaker sits a long-excursion 6½-inch polypropylene woofer driven by a dedicated 60W Class D amp, delivering deeper bass with greater impact and control. High frequencies come courtesy of a 19mm soft-dome tweeter powered by its own 20W amp. It is seated in a precision-engineered waveguide to ensure crisp, balanced treble across a wide listening area. Rear-firing “S”-shaped bass reflex ports extend low-end reach while reducing ventilation noise, rounding out a system rated down to 41Hz (-6dB).

It’s not just about muscle, though. ELAC has packed the DCB61 with thoughtful features that make it an easy upgrade for anything from TVs to turntables. HDMI eARC support means it can take over TV audio duties with full remote volume control. There’s also Bluetooth LC3+ for high-quality wireless streaming, USB-B for hi-res playback up to 24-bit/96kHz, an optical input for games consoles or disc players, and a built-in moving-magnet phono stage for vinyl. Dolby Digital decoding ensures straightforward two-channel cinema sound.

Control is equally streamlined: users can tweak EQ, dial in auto-on settings, and adjust volume via the supplied remote or ELAC’s dedicated iOS and Android app. There’s even a front LED source indicator whose brightness can be tailored to taste.
For those wanting extra low-end heft, a subwoofer output is on hand, while the system’s master-slave configuration means only one power cable is needed to get things going. Cabinet construction employs 12mm reinforced MDF with removable grilles, and with finishes in Black Ash, Crisp White, Olive Green, or Walnut, there’s a look to suit almost any décor.

For listeners who crave genuine hi-fi punch with lifestyle-friendly convenience, ELAC’s latest could be the sweet spot.

The ELAC ConneX DCB61 is available now from Hi-Fi specialists and is priced at £699 | €799 | US $899 with Australian pricing and availability expected to follow shortly.
