Designed and built in Skanderborg, Denmark, Legend is pitched as a compact standmount capable of delivering the scale and composure typically associated with much larger loudspeakers. That’s a familiar claim in this category, but here it’s paired with an unusually strong emphasis on craftsmanship.

Each pair is finished in natural rosewood veneer, with panels selected and matched by eye before being paired with Jatoba hardwood corner sections. Final assembly takes place at Dynaudio’s Danish headquarters. The company describes the result as an “unlimited limited edition”, effectively positioning every pair as visually unique.

Behind the cabinet work sits a more familiar Dynaudio formula. Legend uses the company’s flagship Esotar 3 soft-dome tweeter alongside a dedicated mid/bass driver, housed in a rear-ported bass reflex enclosure and governed by a second-order crossover.
That crossover is partnered with WBT NextGen terminals and a dual-flared port design, with Dynaudio noting that similar component philosophies underpin its larger home loudspeakers and professional studio monitors, including installations at facilities such as Abbey Road Studios.

A skim down through the specifications suggests Legend is not an especially easy load. Sensitivity is rated at 83dB (2.83V/1m) with a nominal impedance of 6 ohms, suggesting it will benefit from capable amplification. Dynaudio claims a frequency response of 60Hz to 28kHz, which, if realised in-room, would be notable for a cabinet of this size.
Interestingly, the company is also positioning Legend as relatively placement-friendly. It is said to be suitable not only for traditional stands but also for shelves, sideboards, and even non-standard orientations, a claim that may raise eyebrows among purists but reflects how many buyers actually use compact speakers in real-world spaces.

Internal listening sessions at Dynaudio Labs reportedly pointed to bass performance and overall scale that exceeded expectations, with engineers initially suspecting a subwoofer in the system. As ever, those impressions come from within the brand, but they hint at what Dynaudio is aiming to achieve with the design.

Visually, Legend draws on earlier Dynaudio models, including Compound, Micron and Consequence, tying the speaker into the company’s broader Heritage-inspired aesthetic. The intent appears to be long-term ownership rather than trend-led design, something that aligns with the materials and construction approach.
Legend will make its first public appearance at AXPONA 2026 in Chicago, where it is expected to feature in one of Dynaudio’s demonstration systems. The company will also host an online presentation with product manager Otto Jørgensen on April 16, offering a deeper look at the design and engineering behind the speaker.

Pricing and availability are still to be confirmed. We’ll update this story as soon as more information comes to hand.
