Canvas HiFi Brings Its Design-Led Soundbar to Singapore

Canvas HiFi has launched its acclaimed soundbar system in Singapore, introducing a product that merges Scandinavian design with uncompromising Hi-Fi performance.

Far from being a conventional television accessory, the CANVAS soundbar has been engineered to deliver uncompromising performance with the kind of refinement normally reserved for reference-grade loudspeakers.

Much of this comes down to the technology contained within. At its core is BACCH™ 3D — a breakthrough in spatial audio developed by Princeton professor Edgar Choueiri. Using advanced crosstalk cancellation, BACCH ensures each ear hears sound only from its respective channel, producing a natural stereo image with width, depth, and height that belies the compact enclosure. The result is a soundstage that can expand to more than three metres wide from a pair of closely spaced drivers, something traditional stereo soundbars simply cannot achieve.

Supporting this is a unique crossover system designed by Benno Baun Meldgaard, whose work with high-end loudspeaker brands has earned him global recognition. Meldgaard’s design gives CANVAS the coherence and transparency of a true hi-fi loudspeaker by focusing on phase alignment and clarity. Further refinement comes via Organic Master Tuning — a psychoacoustic approach developed not in labs but in real homes, ensuring the tonal balance feels open, natural, and lifelike in everyday spaces. Owners can switch between Organic and Neutral tunings through a forthcoming app, with updates automatically delivered to existing systems.

Connectivity and integration are equally considered. CANVAS packs a 250-watt RMS amplifier with a quad-core DSP crossover, full room correction in just one minute, and streaming support for Apple AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Roon, TIDAL, and Spotify. It also accommodates legacy gear with Toslink optical input and an analogue stage built around a premium Burr-Brown ADC, making it turntable-friendly. HDMI eARC ensures seamless TV integration, with control possible via standard television or Apple TV remotes.

Where CANVAS really sets itself apart, though, is in how it blends audio engineering with furniture-grade design. Owners can specify front panels sized to match their television and finished in 13 colours and textures, from Burnt Umber to Nordic-inspired Light Oak. Premium textiles and wood veneers reinforce the Scandinavian design ethos, while clean lines and neutral tones allow the soundbar to sit harmoniously in any space. Inspired by hygge principles, CANVAS is intended not just to play music or enhance films, but to become part of the room's architecture. This calm, minimalist addition also delivers genuine emotional impact.

Laust Nielsen, CEO and Founder of Canvas HiFi, described the concept as a balance of design and emotion:
CANVAS is about more than sound. It’s about creating a piece of furniture that feels like it belongs in your home, while still delivering the emotional power of high-end audio.

Alongside the launch, Canvas HiFi confirmed the appointment of Singapore’s Clarity Group as its exclusive distributor. With nearly a century of heritage in premium technology integration, Clarity Group is known for delivering luxury AV, automation, and design-driven installation projects.
Laust Nielsen said the partnership was a natural fit:
We’re pleased to welcome Clarity Group as our exclusive distributor in Singapore. Their understanding of the local market and shared passion for quality audio make them a natural partner for Canvas HiFi.
Soon Ong, CEO of The Clarity Group, added:
Canvas really understands city living: compact, powerful, and customisable to your space. We’re excited to bring it exclusively to Singapore, where homeowners care deeply about design and performance. It’s a system that doesn’t just sound great — it looks like it was made for your home.

Laust Nielsen and Kim Neeper Rasmussen founded Canvas HiFi to revive the richness of true Hi-Fi in a world dominated by convenience-first audio. The brand has redefined what a soundbar can be by tackling issues such as bass control and stereo imaging in compact environments.
With the launch in Singapore, Canvas is offering consumers the opportunity to experience authentic high-end sound in a product designed to complement, rather than compete with, the aesthetics of modern living spaces.
Expect prices to start at €3,350 for the 55-inch Black model, with variations in size and finish allowing owners to tailor Canvas to their space.
