The MSX is a reworking of Cambridge Audio’s Minx line of loudspeakers, although we also remember the Minx Xi streaming system from 2014.

The specs and room-friendly footprint remain the same, but the rebrand adds new finishes (matte black or matte white) and names, bringing the series into line with the rest of Cambridge’s contemporary offerings.
The new Cambridge Audio MSX range comprises the MSX10 and MSX20 satellite speakers, and the MSX Sub 200 and 300 subwoofers. This offers you a versatile, modular system that can scale up for larger rooms and provide stereo or full surround for home cinema set-ups.

Cambridge Audio MSX Up Close
Under the hood, you’ll find Cambridge's fourth-gen Balanced Mode Radiator (BMR) tech, which promises to create an "open, cohesive sound with exceptionally wide dispersion," so says the brand.

We are told this is achieved by combining dynamic drive-unit performance with bending-wave dispersion, which supposedly eliminates the single sweet spot, so everyone in the room should experience balanced, engaging sound.

Moreover, the new driver boasts better efficiency, an extended treble response and smoother integration across the frequency range.
The MSX20 and MSX10 share the same BMR driver, with the MSX20 adding an integrated, custom-designed subwoofer for greater weight and scale.

Additionally, the two dedicated subwoofers are on hand for extra low-frequency support.
The MSX Sub 200 and MSX Sub 300 promise to deliver "depth and authority without overwhelming the room".

Featuring forward-firing drivers, high-efficiency Auxiliary Bass Radiators (ABRs), and precision Digital Signal Processing (DSP), Cambridge says to expect “tight control and musical accuracy, even at higher volumes.”

The Sub 200 offers a 200W amplifier paired with a 6.5-inch woofer, while the Sub 300 ups the ante with a 300W amplifier and an 8-inch woofer. Naturally, the larger driver requires a slightly larger cabinet.

The MSX speakers sport “high-quality” speaker terminals that support 4mm banana plugs. The MSX satellites can be wall-mounted, with pivoting wall mounts, or used on a desktop with table stands.
All Cambridge MSX units are now available with the MSX10 priced at £79 | €99 | US$99 each, while the MSX20 is £99 | €119 | US$129 each. The MSX Sub 200 is £229 | €399 | US$399, and the MSX Sub 300 is £399 | €499 | US$499.
