Announced this week, the new Midnight Blue and Pearl Blue colourways join the existing Onyx Black, Warm Stone and McLaren Edition options, taking the total Px8 S2 lineup to five finishes.

Granted, it’s a modest update but it lands on a model that already carries significant weight in the category. The Px8 S2 sits at the top of Bowers & Wilkins’ wireless headphone lineup, combining aluminium construction with Nappa leather trim and a design approach that leans as heavily into materials and finish as it does performance.

StereoNET reviewed the Px8 S2 last year, awarding it an Applause Award, with Simon Lucas highlighting its refined presentation and overall balance, qualities that have helped position it as a serious alternative to the usual noise-cancelling heavyweights in the space.

The new finishes don’t change the underlying formula. Bowers & Wilkins says the Midnight Blue and Pearl Blue models retain the same “industry-leading, award-winning” performance as the existing range, with the update focused purely on expanding aesthetic choice.

That broader palette appears to be part of a wider push. Following recent colour updates to the Px7 S3 and Pi8, the company now offers 21 variations across its current wireless headphone and earbud lineup, the largest range of finishes it has produced to date.

It’s a strategy that places design and personalisation alongside sound quality, reflecting a category where visual identity is increasingly part of the buying decision, particularly at the premium end of the market.

The new Px8 S2 Midnight Blue and Pearl Blue are available now, priced at A$1,299 | £629 | US$799 | €729.
