Audeze Penrose Wireless Console Gaming Headphones Launched

Audeze Penrose / Penrose X Wireless Gaming Headphones for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X
Audeze's Penrose (£299) targets the latest generation of gaming consoles and boasts the company's world-renowned audiophile planar magnetic driver technology alongside a "broadcast-quality" microphone.

With Microsoft's Xbox Series X and Sony's PlayStation 5 currently grabbing tech headlines, Audeze has launched the Penrose which joins the brand's high-end LCD-GX and the Mobius 3D Surround Sound PC gaming headset.

The Penrose features Audeze's 100mm planar magnetic drivers, and a removable, flexible boom microphone with built-in noise filters that reduces up to 20dB of background sound. Additionally, you get a 2.4 GHz low-latency lossless wireless connection. All-in-all a combination of what console gamers need and Audeze's sound quality.
Audeze CEO, Sankar Thiagasamudram, told StereoNET:
We're excited to finally offer gamers a true wireless planar headset. Penrose is a huge leap forward for wireless console gaming audio, and we can't wait for people to hear it.

The Penrose wireless headset comes with a USB dongle for use with the Xbox Series X, or PlayStation 5 gaming consoles, as well as current generation consoles and desktop computer systems. Also, Penrose can be connected to mobile devices using Bluetooth 5.0, with support for SBC and AAC codecs. Both wireless and Bluetooth connections can be activated simultaneously, enabling you to customise your Penrose sound settings in real-time using the Audeze HQ mobile and desktop app.

The Audeze Penrose wireless planar magnetic headset comes in two versions, Penrose (for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles, and Windows and Mac desktops) and Penrose X (for Xbox One and Xbox Series X consoles, and Windows desktops). Penrose will retail for £299 when it starts shipping in September.
