I also like darker shade because my eye is sensitive to bright light. But this color scheme is selected via member votes if I remember correctly.

Be nice if there was an option in the settings for a different theme that allowed it.

Yes, I agreed it is high time for a change in theme. Dark color scheme is fine as long as NOT total black. I liked the lighter tone of grey/dark tone. Hopefully we can have a simple CMS to make it a full fledged Xtremeplace Portal instead of just forum. We can have resident writer like Westernendboy and Petetherock who liked to input content.

May need to work on another new logo if we are going to change the color theme...

I recalled the 2002 version when we first started...I m the one who designed the main page back then...how time flies.

I can't believe the WWW still retains an offline copy of the XP Forum as far back as 15 yrs ago!!! That was supposed to be the main page and forum back then is supposed to be "part" of the X'tremeplace. Back then, we have so much expectations of what XP will become...but as time goes by, the forum discussion became the "marquee" and then we decided to make it a full-blown forum sans the main welcome page.

 

A walk down the memory lane...back then still using Frontpage to create web design, then slowly move on to Dreamweaver...

 

yah, it's nice to see the progress of the forum and the design.

And at last I understand where the Planets and Galaxies come from. Always wondered about that.

I am working on modification on the current theme with a darker shade. I hope to retain the same look and feel of the current theme and allow member to choose from lighter or darker shade. This theme have been our door front for many years and this is by far my favorite. Especially the glowing logo created by desray.
