Don_sg Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Old news since beginning of the year that Usher have closed many of their outlets in Taiwan. The only outlet remains open is Taipei Kai Feng. I also notice that local distributor are very quiet with the brand lately. Who can confirm the news? Will the brand survive?
Bugger1624705877 Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 I went to Kai Feng street in early March. Store closed on both days. Neighbour said alsready shifted out.
Don_sg Posted April 12, 2017 Author Posted April 12, 2017 Latest news, (unable to verify news authenticity). Usher wind up. I 'm a hardcore fan of Usher. Value for money, design and quality. http://amybj4.pixnet.net/blog/post/...%96%AA%E6%B0%B4
kelvinsin Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 Heard a fire case burnt their warehouse. Now boss owes and hold employees salary too. But just rumors. May be can ask local dealer sky audio to clarify? I wonder if they really closed down, means the current usher user will no chance to get the replacement part like driver or cone? Means this is killing especially for those usher users who keep their product. Sad new.
sty Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 For the high end model maybe not so good news but for the lower end model like the 520 it should not matter as the speakers is already very value for money. Just use until it is spoil and throw away. Furthermore, you cannot get them anymore. Makes a lot of sense to keep the 520 in my opinion.

Means this is killing especially for those usher users who keep their product. Sad new. You think all other hifi manufacturers will support their products for life? When the manufacturers deem it's end of life for certain models they won't support. Except the Be tweeter, I understand Usher drivers share similarities with Scanspeak, which is easily available. May sound better, too. ;D Few Usher drivers are also still available from Parts Express. There's still possible workaround.

I used to have one pair of it. Solid build and good sound. Superb CP value for entry level speaker.
Don_sg Posted April 13, 2017 Author Posted April 13, 2017 Lifespan of speakers can be very long unless mis-use (Bang&Knock, wrong connection, prolonged distortion). (I guess some guys in the forum have speakers that are more than 20 years already and it is still working fine.) Usher Speakers, Amplifier and Pre-Amp are well-built. Even the entry level s520 and AU series amp are all good quality.
Don_sg Posted April 13, 2017 Author Posted April 13, 2017 Xaudio carry Usher. Sky audio -> Another Taiwan brand D&T i presume. Heard a fire case burnt their warehouse. wizardofoz Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 I wonder if they are headed to an online ID model...or closing up completely. I never owned any but heard them on numerous occasions and thought they punched above their weight for a small ported bookshelf unit.
kelvinsin Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Xaudio carry Usher. Sky audio -> Another Taiwan brand D&T i presume. Thanks for the correction. I always confuse about these 2 company. Haha
Don_sg Posted April 18, 2017 Author Posted April 18, 2017 Great News. Usher stores will operate as usual. 北市中華路,新竹門市,台南門市,高雄門市都有服務
Zerstorer Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 So what exactly is going on? Xaudio doesn't seem interested in carrying Usher anymore. Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
