Should be around $5999/-

Is that the price of VPL-HW30AES, i.e. bundling with 3D emitter and 2 pairs of 3D glasses?

Still pending for the price bundled...apparently there is a change in the bundle release. IIRC you need to add another $300+ for the AES model.

Looking at the tint of the so-called new 3D glasses - I'm afraid that I'm gonna see the same 'color-shift' I've experienced with last year's flagship model, the VPL-VW90ES. :(

I do not know what the tint on Sony's 3D glasses have to be so 'strong'...in order to overcome such a major color-shift, the D65 color mode have to be 'specially' calibrated at the factory in order to make 3D images looked 'normal'...I just hoped that the new '3D color settings' will be optimized this time. The last time I saw is a great disappointment though the 2D presentation is breathtaking to say the least... :D

I'm looking forward to test this new projector with the acclaimed high refresh rate of the SXRD panel (i.e. the Motion-flow)...look abit gimmicky but definitely better than sacrificing contrast over a 3D DLP projector which currently reign in 3D presentation - with the least amount of cross-talk or so I read...

Hi, is the 3D transmitter must place in front together with screen? Can it just place on top where the projector mounted? It will be troublesome to lay a cat7 cable to the front.

Can't be certain at this point...waiting for the demo unit to arrive in SG.

Seem like the Sony HW30ES is not very popular here.

However, I've just installed mine last week, played around with the setting a bit and here's some of the picture.

I would say it's a wonderful projector, 3D is bright and almost ghost free and the depth and black in 3D is wonderful. 2D wise, colour accuracy and detail are great and if you don't put a JVC side by side to it, you would not complaint the black level at all. Put your hand on the projected 2.35:1 picture, compare your shadow with the black bar below the picture, the different is so little, with better calibration and more tweaking, I think I can get it better:-
