Merger of NZ and AU Websites

Dear forum members, I have made the decision over a long time to merge both the StereoNET Australia and New Zealand websites.

While I always felt that NZ deserved its own place on the web for Hi-Fi, it is clear to me from our analytics that a vast amount more NZ residents are utilising the AU forums than the NZ ones anyway.

With that said, the new combined site will cater specifically for both regions, and articles will include both relevant info (pricing/distributor details etc) for both regions.

No content or accounts will be lost in the merger. The end result is a much bigger, more active website that specifically caters to both AU and NZ readers.

I hope you will understand that I have made this decision with the reader's best interests in mind, in the long term.

The affable Gary Pearce will still carry on as NZ Editor and man on the ground, and we have every intention of covering all relevant NZ events and industry related news etc.

Your account will be carried over to the combined forum site. Where you already have an account on both forums, these can be very easily merged into one with no data or history loss.

The reason more people are using the AU forum is because it is almost impossible to login to the NZ site. The problem seems to be that stereo.net and stereonet. are both running simultaneously but not talking to each other and if, like me you get the "." in the wrong place, you can only logon to the Australian forum, Not the NZ version. Even clicking the "international" button and choosing NZ will only let you logon to the Australian forum. Can something be done about this to make it a more seamles operation?

In this World Cup year, the Australian site can only benefit from decent rugby discussions.

The drought is over.

It is not a problem now as the only domain you need now is stereo.net.au which is now the combined AU and NZ website.

The existing .co.nz domain will automatically land here soon once we've finished bringing all the NZ focused content over.

The NZ site had a nice vibe to it, sorry to see it close.

And a warm welcome to any of the NZ members who haven't visited the Aust. site before, hope you all enjoy it here.
