idjit dragon Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Got home today and my Denon 2802 won't output any sound The Missus played a Mika CD today but now there's no sound on any input, including the internal radio tuner and analog ext in? I've hard booted the beast several times and changed every setting that I could think of but to no avial. I did notice that the "digital" display on the front panel was flickering at one point I've managed to play a CD when I pre-out the front speakers to a pre-amp/DAC if this helps with the diagnosis? Any ideas or can I, hand on heart, tell the missus we need to upgrade the AVR heers Martin
rpurchas Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Hi Martin I have the same problem - did you find a solution ? Cheers Richard
rvbdoc Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 (edited) Okay, so everything was working great, and then you BOTH used a Mika CD and both amps stopped working? This happened to you too Richard? I may not have the answer but this info would be probably useful: It could be a new kind of copy protection messing with your firmware? Who made the CD itself? Are you using a DVD player or a CD player? What connection are you using to the amp from the player? What type of player is it? Edited April 4, 2008 by rvbdoc
idjit dragon Posted April 4, 2008 Author Posted April 4, 2008 Hi MartinI have the same problem - did you find a solution ? Cheers Richard Well I found an extreme solution, bought the Marantz 7002 I'm guessing that the digital sound processing is shot, I might get a quote on repair and see if it's worth resurrecting Cheers Martin
