Dork(original) Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 With the horsey flue running rampant in NSW this is the way out of trouble . Paul.
BribieG Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Haha! Now, the whole point of horse racing is gambling. I'ts really just a huge pre-tech version of a pokie machine that's been churning over for the last few centuries, (and in fact contributed to the dawn of computer science with the first totalisator computer which is the T in TAB) . What interests me is that, with part of this gambling machine disabled, so far there has been no media comment in whether Greyhound Racing has 'picked up the slack' from the gambling masses. Would be interested to know.

Guest EZYHD Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 They should give the nags a Codral tablet, it will either fix them ot make then fart more!.
Steve C Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 There was me thinking to myself - upon seeing 'flu' spelt 'flue'; that horses had been turned into chimneys... kind of appropriate given NSW horse racing has gone up in smoke! As for the 'Doggies' taking up the slack... all I know is that some of my workmates who are heavy gamblers have gone to the dogs! Go the bowl lickers! I also loved the proposal that 'income relief be provided to those "in the industry". Given the number of souls who've lost the shirt off their back and more to the "Sport of Kings", they want all taxpayers to now provide for them, which does seem somewhat two faced. Where was their compassion for those who've lost everything to their "industry"? Horse flu should be considered just a punt those in the "industry" have to live with, just like a punter knows if they lose, they have little to no recourse at recouping their loses apart from the next nag getting up...

It's all those gambling dollars that have gone up the 'flue'. Not a bad thing, either! Sodom & Gomorrah finally get their comeuppance . Now thay want taxpayer's dollars to support the industry that has been brought down by it's own lax practices. I suppose it is all the little people that get hurt -- like jockeys. Rod

Steve C Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Fark,i don't believe i did that.Flue,D'oh!.My wife would kill me. Paul Don't worry! Women are known for their compassion and understanding... unlike the racing industry.
raikage Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 I friend lost her job at the TAB, they couldn't afford to pay her. that says it all.
Steve C Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 I friend lost her job at the TAB, they couldn't afford to pay her. that says it all. Well it is more important for Packer to get his cut than to retain staff! She should have shown some intiative and setup some snail or cockroach races at her TAB branch for punters to illegally gamble on in the mean time. She would have still been fired, but she would have at least had direct contact with the slimy cocks that have ruined her life!
Mr.Bitey Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 OMG. How is this going to affect the Pleasure Horse Industry ?? Cheers, Bitey
Steve C Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 OMG.How is this going to affect the Pleasure Horse Industry ?? Cheers, Bitey Pleasure horses are for recreational use only... you'd take a gamble using them for anything else!
Mr.Bitey Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Pleasure horses are for recreational use only... you'd take a gamble using them for anything else! Thats one for the pool room... or at least one for someones Sig as a classic quote I think we need a sticky in OT of 'classic quotes' - sorta like a wall of shame Cheers, Bitey
Steve C Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 I think we need a sticky in OT of 'classic quotes' - sorta like a wall of shame Cheers, Bitey Cool! Phil Spectre invented the 'Wall of Sound'; DTV Forum can invent the 'Wall of Shame'! ...or should that be 'Wall of Sham'? I guess it'd work either way!
Mr.Bitey Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 I'll run it as a chalk-board in the Troll Hunters bar for now until we can bribe the Dragon with some Troll meat once this Troll-Amnesty is off Cheers, Bitey
Steve C Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 (edited) I'll run it as a chalk-board in the Troll Hunters bar for now until we can bribe the Dragon with some Troll meat once this Troll-Amnesty is off Cheers, Bitey Sounds like a plan! If you run out of Troll meat, there's apparently plenty of former gelding, mare and stallion steaks on offer at Randwick and Rosehill... Not sure whether dragons can catch Equine Influenza; but if they did, they'd be able to barbeque their meat with every sneeze! Edited September 4, 2007 by Steve C
Mr.Bitey Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Valley of Stupidity Is that this or this ? Cheers, Bitey
Steve C Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Not sure you'll see too many trolls for a while mate, believe they're having their annual Jamboree in the Valley of Stupidity Wouldn't a Troll Jamboree be amongst the shortest lived events in the Universe? It's just in the nature of a Troll to be a Troll. That's despite their expending all that effort to cross the Imbecile Ranges before fording the Wanker River on the way to the Valley of Stupidity...

No Steve - its a massbridging! theyre trying to build a bridge over the Imbecile Ranges and the Wanker River and finally over the Valley of Stupidity! Its rumoured to be called the Mass Suspension Bridge - thats why theyre all gone - takes so many Trolls to make such a big bridge! Cheers, Bitey

I'm sure they'll be building their Bridge using the Mass Suspension of Belief principle.
