tw1965 Posted August 28, 2005 Author Posted August 28, 2005 - I am one of the Beta Testers - "Fully BDA compliant" means ? Is there a tool to verify ? - Conexant's cx2388x driver supports multiple cards in the same PC since build 4.0.107.0 (The latest driver i got is 4.0.112.0). I had tested 2 Stratford2(DVB-T) cards + 1 Oxford(Hybrid) card (=3 cards) in the same PC.
krypto1 Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 The drivers that I am using are 4.0.107.3204 which I got from the CD ROM dated 110805. I'm not sure how to check what version of WinDTV I'm using. I am able to install the drivers and the WinDTV application seperately, however if I then run Win DTV I get a message about can't find decoders. The card runs in MCE because it then uses the nvidia purevideo encoder.
Ian Norman Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Krypto1 Do you mean the Winfast DTV program errors when you using XPMCE or XP ????

WinFast DTV does not support the NVIDIA MPEG Decoder. WinFast DTV supports the following MPEG decoders(Hot Key : F11): - CyberLink PowerCinema 4 - CyberLink PowerDVD 6 - InterVideo WinDVD 7 - InterVideo WinDVD 6 - InterVideo WinDVD 5 PS: CyberLink PowerDVD 5 is not supported Please post the log file: C:\Program Files\WinFast\WFDTV\DVBT_LOG.TXT The error message is wrong, There are many errors before the "Can not load Decoder". Are you running the Emerald ? The "ehrecvr.exe" will be re-starting automatically before it was killed by WFWIZ.EXE. The best way to run WinFast DTV in MCE2005 is: Step 1 : Run "net stop ehrecvr" to stop the ehrecvr Step 2 : Run WinFast DTV Step 3 : Run "net start ehrecvr" to re-start the ehrecvr BTW, this ("net stop ehrecvr" and "net start ehrecvr") "will be done in the newest WinFast DTV on Sep..
krypto1 Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Krypto1 Do you mean the Winfast DTV program errors when you using XPMCE or XP ???? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The card runs fine in MCE, but it won't see SBS for some reason. I run it alongside a Dvico card. In XP I can get WinDTV to run but I get a message "Fail to connect decoders". I suspect this is because the CD based installtion installs the WinDTV decoders and manually installing WinDTV doesn't install the decoders. Also WinDTV obviously can't use the nVidia decoders that are installed on the PC.
renura Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 I am one of the Beta TestersOk that's fair enough - "Fully BDA compliant" means ? Is there a tool to verify ?- I wish I guess if they work with most BDA applications, MCE WS etc in multiple card setup, would be good enough test.Conexant's cx2388x driver supports multiple cards in the same PC since build 4.0.107.0 (The latest driver i got is 4.0.112.0).Not according to my tests, if those are the same Conexant drivers that are used by other cards, such as the K-World, MSI, etc. Where would I be able to get these latest (4.0.112.0) drivers?

Ian Norman Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Krypto1 Your SBS problem in XPMCE could either be the "Default Bandwidth" reg fix or maybe you need a custom DLL made. The reg info can be found on this page - it applies to a number of products http://www.iln.com.au/xpertdtvmods.html Perhaps you should go to the Australian XP Media Centre site and we can help you with a custom DLL. http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au/community/index.php? tw1965 Posted August 28, 2005 Author Posted August 28, 2005 Hello, I will find and post the Conexant 4.0.112.0 driver ASAP (it was deleted in my HDD, I shall find it from my many DVD+R discs): What's new in 4.0.112.0: - Support Oxford (Hybrid) demo board - Support PCI Audio (Analog TV Audio go throught PCI, the Analog audio output to sound card is not necessary) - ...

Cheers <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I am refering to when I'm changing between channels. The Dvico card tunes SBS from the existing table in MCE, although it is a bit hit and miss at times and SBS is listed in my services. Its just the DTV1000T that doesn't tune SBS. It tunes everything else perfectly with no errors, unlike my other cards which sometimes miss a channel.
Ian Norman Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Krypto1 The Dvico has a "frequency translation table" in the driver. The DTV1000 does not. ( not that I'm aware of ). Do you mean your first card is the Dvico and when you hit record you can change channels which means the second card is then working. Cheers
tw1965 Posted August 28, 2005 Author Posted August 28, 2005 FYI, Reception Detail for Perth: The SBS is in UHF, the othes are in VHF: ABC, VHF-12, 226.5 MHz TEN, VHF-11, 219.5 MHz SBS, UHF-29, 536.5 MHz Nine, VHF-8, 191.625 MHz Seven, VHF-6, 177.5 MHz And the signal is not come from the same site: The Transmitter Site Location of SBS is in Bickley; the otehrs are in Carmel. krypto1 Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 I will try to explain more clearly. The problem with the DTV1000T card on my HTPC is as follows: It runs fine under MCE2005 if installed as previously described. However it can not be used to scan for services. If I use the Dvico to scan for services then the DTV1000T will see all the scanned services except SBS. My understanding is that Tuner cards used under MCE use the MCE services list. Hence both cards running under MCE use the list created by scanning with the Dvico card. I will try the work around of stopping ehrecvr when I get a chance. My impression was that the WinDTV decoder wasn't installing correctly. When I refer to channing channel, I mean while watching TV under MCE. The DTV1000T card is significantly fater and more reliable than the Dvico and Compro card when changing channels ie the channels change fast and correctly eveery time. With the Dvico and Compro I sometimes get a blue screen saying incoreect frequency or some such message when changing channels.
Ian Norman Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 TW1965 Thanks for the MCE update - very kind of you. Do remember that when everyone finds out about your download link that hundreds of users will download it. You might use up your traffic bandwidth on your site. Thanks again
Ian Norman Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Krypto1 No DVB-T application can run in XPMCE without stopping the Ehome Services. The issues about SBS or dual cards have all been discussed at the Australian XP Media Centre site. If you have read all that info then I'm sure you will be able to get it all working. Cheers
