O/T: Novarg Virus

Featured Replies

Anyone who hasn't already updated their virus definitions, a quick reminder to do so. This latest virus isn't all that friendly to the Internet Community!

If you don't know what this virus is, do a search on www.mcafee.com or www.symantic.com.au.

If you don't have a virus scanner, you may be able to get one for free (on trial) from either site.

If we are writing plugs for our favourite anti virus software, I will have to dissapoint the viewers. No Emtech or Fracarro do not have an Antivirus software program to sell.

But,

Noddy does!

Why isn't that in your signature?

Now that is interesting, George.

I wonder If anyone conceived of the idea of writing a virus to infect STB's using Free - To - Air updates (upgrading of functionality).

I use an Emtech.

Nope.

If I could remember all the virus scanners web sites then I would have posted the URL's.

BTW. There is also Sophos and VET etc. and even some for Linux.

Also, the DVD demystified FAQ once brought up the possibility of DVD players getting infected, but it's rare to have the firmware flashed that way. You have to be silly enough (or fooled enough) to insert a virus disk.
