craig10 Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Item: Altec Lansing Model 19 SpeakersLocation: Gold CoastPrice: $1300Item Condition: see belowReason for selling: see belowPayment Method: Cash on pick upExtra Info: After selling my JBL 4350 speakers a couple of years back I've had a longing for "that sound" that numerous more modern day speakers in between just couldn't match. I bought these Altecs to satisfy that urge. They go very close to the JBLs (i.e. they sound awesome) however there's too much work to do on them to get them "pretty" enough for the missus to allow them into the house. Before buying speakers like these again I realise I need to be retired with lots of time and money and my current count is 0 out of 3 there. All drivers sound great (no detectable rubbing) although I haven't done any extensive testing. The surrounds on the 15" bass drivers are fragile at best with one having visible cracks/holes. The cones look to be in good condition although there are no dust caps. The cabinets are in only fair condition (terminal connectors missing from one cab). I'm pretty sure these only came in "oak" so they have been sprayed black. Pick up only due to size and weight. Pictures: 3

Lansche plasma guy Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Great opportunity to build Voice of the Theatres with the drivers. I owned some of these for a couple of years and thought they sounded good. I broke them down and turned them into Voice of the Theatre a7-800s. Sand damping the 811 horn helped the horn honk tons and made them much less agro. What happened to the dust caps? LPG 1
