Hi all, I'm after some advice. I have always been pretty old school in my music tastes and have typically preferred to listen to physical media over streaming. I used to use a Sony NW-ZX300 with either Sony IER-M7 or Audiofly AF1120Mk2 for my daily listen and have always preferred the fit/comfort of IEMS - wearing glasses can make over ear cans uncomfortable. I said used to as things changed in a big way in December when I become a dad (oh my god was I blissfully aware of how much everything would change) and found that cables for headphones or trying to changes records or CDs one handed when juggling a baby was impossible, so I admitted defeat and finally signed up to Spotify and bought a Sony WH-1000M5. Both of which are great, like how great is Spotify to the uninitiated? I had last checked it out in 2009 and was a bit unimpressed, guess a lot changes in a decade! My question is, I prefer IEMs to overear headphones and in the never ending question of what should I upgrade next I'm trying to work out whether to buy a true wireless adapter such as the Fiio UTWS5 or Shure TW2 or should I buy purpose built wireless earbuds? The functionality of the Sony's is great and a real selling point for me and given how I listen now it may be that functionality and ease of use is more important than the sound quality. I'm also not sure how well the true wireless adapters work for glasses wearers. Does anyone have any particular thoughts on whether one is a better option than the other or any buying suggestions? Budget is probably around $500.
