Thanks Speedsun...will check out the Sr705 too...Onkyo seem to have alot of users out there.... Btw. what speakers goes with the Onkyos ? Don't like em too big and bulky neither...thinking of going wireless for the rears...any good ones to consider ?

Thanks Yob and KC for your input. Am considering the Onkyo 606...been reading the threads about theses two av amps... My viewing area is in my living room, am sitting 11 ft away from the screen. Trying to find out more about what's available out there, am still learning about av....

Hi guys, Just took delivery of my Oppo 980, and am considering upgrading my receiver to one with hdmi inputs (currently using a pioneer VSX-C100), my room is not that big, therefore don't need one with huge power. Which brands/models should I consider ? What specs should I look out for ? Do I get better sound using hdmi for audio ? My budget is about $1k. Thanks
