Replied to you on OCAU about this. But either way, here's where it could stuff up... Wouldn't their database show an error as the names from the two receipts will match. Upon further inspection they'll see it's the same receipt, used twice. Also the name you register with and your address will be different from the one on the receipt.

Did some more googling and found out that Fifa's 1.1 update is just an update for the game, not the PS3 firmware haha. I'm use to my Wii, where these game updates are firmware updates. Oh well it's in here for anyone else that searches this forum for the answer.

When using firmware version 2.10 and playing Fifa 08, does anyone get an occasional message saying 'Update to 1.10 available, press OK to install'? The message window blacks out the game, with the game still running, until you either close it or hit OK. I don't want to hit OK because it's an older firmware version. Very annoying. Any advice would be great.

Finally got my PS3 and set it up yesterday. Was wondering what settings you guys use when playing games on the PS3. I mucked around with Vivid (hurts my eyes after a while due to brightness) and Standard (maybe too dull?). So what settings do you use with the PS3? Also noticed Fifa 08 was 720p, is that right?

But now I have to wait until monday to pick it up, which funnily enough makes it 28 days.

I rang up on 13/2 and was told 7 days, just rang up now (21/2) and was told 7 days. Sent the claim in on 28/1, so can't complain... yet. Just funny they've said the same thing twice now.

That sucks. Doesn't your post office have a parcel pickup window that opens around 6am? Mine does, thank god.

It plays CDs, DVDs, and Blu-Ray. The latest console update also allows you to play divx.

My local Video Ezy has Blu-Rays (Northern Beaches, Sydney).

Is my understanding on this anywhere near correct... the Sixaxis controller and the Dual Shock 3 controller are the same, except the Dual Shock 3 has rumble? And we get a Sixaxis (so no rumble) with our PS3? I want teh rumble so just checking if I need to buy a Dual Shock 3 controller.

I have two questions about my 40W: 1. It says it was made in Malaysia, but I've read that a lot are made in Japan. Is there a difference? 2. How do I determine the manufacture date? I've read it's near the serial number but I can't see it.

Yup from what I've read here and on the OCAU forums it sounds like things are starting to speed up. People who sent theirs in mid-Jan are receiving the PS3 around the same time as those that sent in early-Jan. It should be late-Jan receiving most of their's next week.

I sent mine in on the 28/1 and just rang to find out it was already processed, but they can't send it out for 7 days (stock I guess), so should have it end of next week.

I have time to call today, but don't have my registration code with me. Has anyone managed to enquire about their PS3 using their name only?

For DVD's and Divx I use the HDTV Test settings (which i have set to Cinema). I increased the backlight and gamma because I found it a little too dark. Will look at my settings again when my PS3 gets here for Blu-ray. For FTA and Foxtel I'm using the settings someone posted in the X Calibration thread from the DVS forum. It's similar to the HDTV settings except sharpness and contrast are turned up more and the temp is neutral I think. If I can find them I'll edit my post. It definitely makes my crappy foxtel look better.

I've played the Wii and Xbox 360 so far on my W. For me, Vivid looked wayy too bright on both consoles - especially the Wii menu ouch. I've been using Standard for them and it actually seems pretty good. One thing I've noticed in Wii Sports, especially the bowling, is the aliasing. There are jaggies on all of the lines. I don't get it in other games like Mortal Kombat, it's just Wii Sports. Anyone else get this or know what can be done?

I made the decision to get the W over the D for 3 reasons: 1. PQ looked better in the store 2. Future proofed at 1080p and when making a large investment that's a very important consideration as I intent to have this tv for the next 5-10 years 3. Free PS3 (grats on yours heh) I read on here that Sony will drop their prices by $500-$600 in June/July, so you could always wait until then to fit it within your budget. But you're already out shopping haha.

I did a search but couldn't find any information here about protective screens. Basically I'm looking for something I can get to place over my LCD screen to limit the damage my baby does. He's usually very good, but occasionally sends a toy flying across the loungeroom. So far he has hit the screen once with no damage done, but I'm getting worried. Any advice?

I'm very keen on ordering some games and hardware when my PS3 arrives. Any chance you will get more discount coupons in the near future?
