  1. I would, whilst its still running. The main reason I see people wanting to have a 60 gig is the ability to play PS2 games as well. I can't understand why, as you could just get a PS2 console for $90 brand new these days anyways.
  2. I've suspected something has been coming ever since Target and the $199 40gb runout. Compared to Wii and 360 there has not been much advertising for PS3 + game deals around as of late either (that I've noticed anyway). Hopefully its a new model and price drop to $500 or something.
  3. Ahhhh ok, I didn't realise it had been like that for ages as I've only been looking at Bluray's for a couple of weeks.
  4. Just on their site then, http://www.sanity.com.au/search/search.asp....x=0&I1.y=0 The DVD version is $64.99. No way would anyone pay $149 in their right mind for it. Big W had it for about $83 which is still pretty good imo.
  5. That 2 for $50 deal at Sanity is pretty good, some quality titles in there. Whilst I was there I noticed the Die Hard collection on bluray for $64.99. I think they got their DVD and Bluray price tickets mixed up as the guy at the counter said that its dearer than that on the screen here. But he had to give it to me at the ticketed price. Hope he doesn't get his arse kicked though as it probably wasn't his fault.
  6. GTA4 was the first game I ever took back for a refund. Vice City was their best effort IMHO. And yes COD4 was my most played game of 2008. Motorstorm:Pacific Rift was awesome and LBP was good too, but not as good as they made out it would be.
  7. Received my cable today, top quality. Great delivery time too, thanks. Really shows off the power of the PS3 on LCD.
  8. Just bought this telly for our main bedroom. Just finished doing a basic setup and had a little play with it, and deadset it looks awesome for a sub $900 TV. Really impressed.
  9. $78 Big W.
  10. Exactly what I was thinking, getting into the technicalities will only give you a headache. Go with what looks good for you. Try taking one of your favorite DVD's to the store with you since that's what you'll mainly be watching, you'll get a good idea of how it'll look.
  11. The Bucket List Plot: Two men, one is a mechanic who is a whiz at trivia (Morgan Freeman), the other a rich man who owns hospitals with few friends, if any (Jack Nicholson). Both realise they have cancer, get placed into the same room for treatment and slowly become good friends. When faced with the prospect that they might as well 'go out with a bang', they make a list to do all the things in the world they've always wanted to. 3.5/5 Action: Not a lot in the way of action. But there's a little bit when doing their 'Bucket List' activities. There's a few good laughs along the way. 2/5 Chick Factor: Pretty much a zero. 0/5 Buy / Rent / Forget it: Well worth a look, but I'd probably just rent it. Maybe only worth watching twice at best. Two world class actors make this movie, might have been a dud with anyone else. Fitting ending too, always a plus. Overall 3.5/5
  12. $500- $550 seems to be the regular going rate mate from what I've seen.
  13. Saw the 37LZD800A yesterday, looks pretty much the same panel minus one hdmi as previously stated. Sweet looking panel, arguably the best picture in the store. $1997 was ticket price at the Good Guys, less for cash. Seriously considering getting this one. Salesman talked himself out of a sale stating to me that there will be price drop withing two months. Hope he's correct.
  14. Just got a quick quote, $139 for +2 year warranty or $189 for +5 for a TV $2k and under. Pretty good deal I reckon, as long as they're dependable. Was thinking of getting a Panasonic 37" yesterday and I got quoted $300 for +2 at the shop. I thought it was excessive.
  15. Sounds like they would have been better off having people send in their names/ receipts # etc and still have their daily $25K prize draw as per norm. Then at the end having a lottery for all those who entered and missed out on the big ones for the 5000 smaller prizes.
  16. Just bought a DVD recorder, won......... NOTHING. Was tossing up whether to get a Panasonic, Sony or Samsung LCD panel, guess I'll get the Sammy or Sony, at least you're more or less guaranteed of getting a bonus.
  17. Those who got it add me and if I see ya's online we'll set up a race or something... Chooky_NJFC
  18. I got it yesterday, excellent game, heaps of fun. Multiplayer is great and hardly lags at all, and I'm still on 512k ADSL! Free Drift multiplayer is heaps good as is the demolition derby race.
  19. Its an old phrase but a good one to live by: " If it seems too good to be true it probably is. " Rarely you'll find a good deal in this world, especially like this. Its sad but a lot of people are just there to take advantage of others in this world. Good to see someone is thoughtful enough to do their homework. Good thread.
  20. Did you get that price haggling or is that the price on the ticket? Thats a top price.
  21. Thanks everyone in this thread. From the recommendations NOW I HAVE NO LIFE, This game is great! Multiplayer is so much fun I don't want to go out for tea tonight, my daughter is literally dragging me from it haha. I bought a copy today when I saw it at Myer for $84. Team Merc. Deathmatch is my favourite. I just go to join game, is that the only way to join? Or can you see a server list like other games and choose? (sorry to sound like a total nub)
  22. Yeah that'd be me, but i removed the fact. That ovcerclockers one is similar to what I had in mind, but I'd put the seat a bit higher and make the seat and rack adjustable to suit all. Lightweight and portability is a big thing so I'd make it a pull apart job as well for easy storage. In the not too distant future i'll make one up and get back to you all. Should be able to make them pretty cheap as well.
  23. Had a go at one of these wheels at the shops a few weeks ago, awesome. Would've got one, but have some bigger bills to pay at the moment, mortgages suck.
  24. Cheers for the heads up, just going down now to get one, rang up, only 2 left though, got it on hold. As amyf says, ring ahead first.
  25. Borrowed this game off a friend and whilst I must say I love using a KB/Mouse for FPS, after about 2 hrs playing my coordination with the controller is getting heaps better. Awesome game. Firefights are intense. COD series really has single player figured out and makes it a joy to play and watch. Eye Candy is #1 for mine.
