  1. I have been suspicious about the DTC9.8 sound quality from the start. I found it hard to beleive that it can compete with high end audio gear. Even price wise it is hard to beleive (seems so cheap ... oddly cheap) and it lacks all the usual tweaks we could find in old Integra units, not to mention Integra Research. It really looks like the integrated 905 but whitout the amp stage and with some extra balanced stereo in and 7.1 outs ... nothing special anyway (better DAC, clock ... nothing makes a real difference).
  2. Yes that is correct ! And if I remember well the Radiance is reaching an unprecedented record ! Since its first announcement at has been more than a year and a half, it will be soon a 2 years delays since Lumagen gave the preliminary specs (they changed alot since then).
  3. No scaler ever announced ended up on the streets at due time ! Usual delay is 6 months to 1 year ! Or no dates are given at all (eg McIntosh VP1000) So even if the available date will be around the 15th of December that is still among the shortest delays for a scaler ! And if we have a perfect unit with only minor need of firmware updates (maybe even none) and with all option unlocked, then my respect to Cary Audio !
  4. I agree with your comments about Audyssey ! All my home theater fellow friends who listened to the EQ pro were simply flown away ! I did a VS match with Velodyne integrated EQ (same as SMS1) and the EQ pro, the Velodyne correction is outperformed ! The AudysseyXT bass filtering is way better ! A friend tried the Trinnov systeme (very expensive boxe), he found the EQ pro just as good and it is for the fraction of the price ! I had some info about the new standalone Audyssey boxes and they are very exciting (I guess it is still confidential so I won't say more). As for where I live ... well some place fare fare away ... and that is unfortunate ! France that is ! I just came here to enjoy the exciting news, get the good advices and chat with nice folks !
  5. Hi guys. My first message on this forum. This is my situation : I got an old Integra Research RDC7, so no HDMI. I also have a Crystalio II VPS3800 so no audio 7.1 LPCM pass-through over HDMI2 (limited to DD, DTS and PCM 2.0). I've been watching the AVS Cinema11 V thread but it seems to be sleeping, all the fresh news comes here, so here I am. I do think the Cinema11 V + Cinema11 A makes alot of sens ! I thought that the Cinema11 A did not have any HD audio codec decoding capabilities, if it does TrueHD then that is a good bonus even if any HD players out there can did it internaly. Well anyway if I just have up to 7.1 LPCM and DTS-HD MA decoded to LPCM inside the Cinema11 V then the combo is already worth the deal. That would be the first high end combination that propose high perf scaling with 120Hz display readyness, full CMS, my beloved TrueLife, all HD audio codec compatible, high end DACs and sure all the goodness and ease of the video and audio switching that using a video processor along with an audio processor can give. My only concern (that shall be discussed somewhere else in the forum I guess) is the auto calibration and the EQ correction stage of the Cinema11 A. It really looks like AudysseyXT (I got an Audyssey EQ pro anyway + its calibration kit, very rare thing for an individual non installer pro). It is said not to be operative in every use situation ?? Can someone hint me or direct me where this is clarified ?! Thanks. I will watch with great expectations what will say the first to get their hands on the Cinema11 V.
