  1. Hi All, Just finished rebuilding my old Auditec Stereo Amplifier. one board with all new transistors electrolytics and 25 turn pots. The other board I just changed the electrolytics and pots to 25turn. I having trouble trying to track down the bias setting. I currently have the DC offset close to +-1.5 mv and Bias set to 55Ma. The sound is Ok but not great as I remember it. Tried Delsound and AVE that where the resellers back in the day. The response is nothing on file. I have looked the Musical Fidelity A1 which is similar design but these run at 700ma Bias. Not sure if I like to go that hot. Reaching out for some information Rod
  2. Hi Steve, Just rebuilding my old Auditec Amp. New cabinet, power supply, regulators, soft start and speaker protection. I don’t have a Schematic but do know the in and out connections if that helps? Rod
  3. Hi all, I did buy some of the 033 modules from his shop opposite Waitara Station (near Hornsby) NSW in the early 80's. I still have two of the board and duplicated 5 more from the original. Just asking as I have forgotten the procedure for the resistor VR2. If any one knows the procedure that would be fantastic.
  4. Some 5.1 dosn't have any LF content. Bit of a cheat, but there is a differnce at the TV station, but it doesn't show up at home. True 5.1 is en-coded as 3/2L, while a non sun woofer one is 3/2. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks ocujos, I thought there was a problem with my setup. I can activate Circlesurround II, in the M-Audio card which brings up the LFE. But I prefer to no use any DSP's if I can avoid it. Sparkie Just a note: Quote: Connect L & R high levels from the receiver (mine does not have low level sub out) to the L & R terminals on the sub. Connect the existing L & R speakers to the sub's L & R output terminals (instead of to the receiver). I gather the sub will have a control to change the crossover freq. so that not all the bass goes to the L & R speakers. ( A powered sub for line level in wll go thru a crossover then the filter to connect to the sub's main amp, it just filter out from the crossover) When the high level terminals on the sub are used, does the sub use power from the speaker, or does it just pick off the signal and still use its internal amp? ( It does not draw power from your amp) And do the L & R speakers still use receiver power, but just go through a high pass crossover builtin to the sub? (yes your LF RF still connect to your reciever) The receiver is actually 5.1, with 15W per channel, and 30W for the sub output. ( some new high end home theatre speakers have side firing sub's bulit into the LF RF this may be an option for your peerless) One more question: in the receiver speaker setup, there is an option for "subwoofer on or off". The manual does not help, but does that actually mean when it's set to "on" it assumes there is a real sub attached, and therefore does *not* feed low frequencies to the L & R speakers? ( hard one, one if it has bass management) Sorry this is getting a bit off topic, but am I on the right track? Bob Long
  5. Just quick question while on the subject of DD 5.1, If I recieve the channel 7HD loop and select Ac3 audio PID, it comes up with DD 5.1 48000 384kbs. I have levels in all channels except the .1 LFE. I also recorded the loop and played it back in Windvd " in infomation it stated 6 channels LFE present" but no levels Does any one else have the same issue. using MyTheatre software, VisionPlus and Windvd 6 Sparkie
  6. I running on my desktop Asus p4pe MB 2.4g P4, on board audio,512m ram, Radeon 9250. But I do prefer to use my VisionPlus / MyTheater / Windvd 6 Filters, far better PQ.
  7. Worked fine here 5.1 with analog out, so long as you are receiving a dolby 5.1. stream Most transmissions are two channel though.
  8. This Eye thing, is not only fixed to mac's. There's a FireDTV which is the "elgato" running MyTheater front end. I'm using MyTheater software as HDTV front end with Intervideo decoders, look great, time shift, any decoder, recording to dvd format and network streaming on a Visionplus.
  9. Anarchi, Have tried 3.114, and same issue is present, not tried 3.127. "Gamma" in DigiTv picture setting is not available, but I did notice that the sliders for Brightness etc did not align with the sliders in the ati control panel. For example 50% brightness in Picture settings represented +10 in Ati control panel. It seems to be with basic code in DigiTv, but I need more infomation to go to Nebula with. Sparkie
  10. Murrayt, Thanking you for your post. Do you use DigiTv??
  11. Hi Guys, DigiTv 3.128, changes gamma to default setting each time I start it. Does this apply to all versions of DigiTv?? Sparkie
  12. To all that is interested, Nebula have comfirmed at DigiTv has a problem with ATI Drivers. Here's the reply from my Email: Thank you for your emails. We have investigated further and it looks as though with ATI cards, changing the picture settings in DigiTV does affect the settings in the ATI overlay tab, however, other graphics cards are not affected in this way, ie, they remain the same even though hue, contrast, saturation, etc are changed within DigiTV. With regards to the Gamma setting, again, DigiTV should not be making a change to these settings and is not able to since DigiTV can only alter the picture settings in our Picture Controls window, ie, Brightness, Contrast, Hue, Saturation and Sharpness. As such, the problem with the Gamma setting will probably lie with the graphics card drivers you have installed. You say that you've already tried upgrading only to find them "buggy", however, an upgrade may help to resolve your current problem. Thanks again for your emails and I hope this information helps. Best Regards The Support Team Nebula Electronics Ltd If some of you are having problems with dark images with regards to DigiTv Let me Know Sparkie
  13. Anarchi, I have two systems p4 2.4 , Ati 9200 cat 4.3 drv and p4 3.2 , 9800pro cat 3.8 drv. I have my screen calibrated using gamma setting 1.45 and its a pain going in each time to correct it, even if you just minimise and maximise Digitv it resets gamma. Sparkie
  14. Hi Guys, I have a new Nebula DigiTv card and found a Bug with the Gamma correction. The issue is if you like to use the display card overlay control panel to correct Brightness,Contrast, Hue, saturation, and gamma. Digitv changes these values to what is set in the DigiTv picture settings, all execpt "Gamma". DigiTv changes the Gamma setting to 1.0 or 1.2 in my case, each time you start DigiTv. This may be what some people have complained about dark images with DigiTv. I'm wondering if other Nebula card owners have the same issue. Thanks Sparkie
