  1. With the amp and sub off, ive pushed in the cone to test for rubbing, knocking or scratching but it seems fine. There is no obstruction. The sub is new, had it only a few months. This problem has been there since I got it. I have tested everything else and now I am sure its the sub. I read somewhere else to try put foam in the air port at the back, but shouldnt the airflow be unobstructed?
  2. No it cant be a volume problem because this happens even on low volumes. From my amp i can turn LFE to low volume but the rumble and crackle still happens.... Any other suggestions?
  3. Hi, I have a 12" Jensen subwoofer. Even with low volumes the speaker rumbles and crackles with low bass frequencies when really it shouldnt. I know the audio signal is clean. Is there something on the amp I should look at, or it the subwoofer stuffed? What would commonly cause this?
  4. Hi all, I have Onkyo SR804 connected via HDMI out to Hitachi Plasma. I have connected a SD settop box into the RCA components on the Amp and configured the setup. The settop box video is passing through HDMI fine, however around the video is multicolor horizontal video noise (top, bottom, left and right of the video). This same noise is visible during the Amp Setup stage too. Is it possible to either scale up the video to fill the whole screen, or to overlay black bars around the video image? Hope you can help!
  5. Hi all, Looking at some options for AV receivers available at JB Hifi. Onkyo TX-SR804 Pioneer VSX-1016V Yamaha RX-V861 I'd like to hear opinions on which is the better brand, better model (if you have compared them) and best listening performance? These are all within the same general price range around $1500. So far, Im leaning towards the Yamaha, but would like people's opinions to sway me in the right direction. Thanks, DJ P.S. I watch more movies & TV than music listening, but still music is high priority.
