A pair of top-class Class-D monoblock amps. Audio Alchemy resurrected around 2017 and made a number of new products. These 325 / Ch into 8 ohms (400 into 4 ohms) monoblocks were all class.
Conclusion from Stereophile when compared with a pair of pair of Theta monoblocks cost 4 TIMES as much:
“What I will say is that the DPA-1M is a very fine monoblock power amplifier that's truthful to the music, and whose sound quality approaches but does not reach the level available from the far more expensive Theta Digital Prometheus. If I had to choose between the two amplifiers and cost was not an issue, I would go for the Prometheus. But if the Prometheus were out of my price range, I could live quite happily with the Audio Alchemy DPA-1M, confident in the knowledge that I was getting most (98%, 99%? Oh, never mind . . . ) of the Theta's sound. Audio Alchemy is back, and it's a reason for value-conscious audiophiles to celebrate.”
Since then AA was bought out by ELAC, and the same monoblocks (all be it in a totally different chassis) are available now in Oz for $5,400 per pair!
I have used these sparingly in one of my stereo systems, but recently bought a Lyngdorf to utilize it’s ‘RoonPerfect’ system to deal with that room’s not ideal acoustics.
Some minor scuff marks where they were squeezed into a rack, but in tip-top operational condition.
I have the original boxes, and as each amp only weighs around 7kg, postage should be fine.
