Purist Audio Design CAT 7 Diamond Revision Ethernet Cable

This USA hand-crafted Purist Audio Design ethernet cable supports extremely fast

ethernet speeds of up to 10 gigabits per second (Gbs) depending on your NBN connection and retail plan (and the capacity of your router and what you are connecting to). It used the latest CAT 7 technology which is optimised for HiFi (so not a less fast and capable cable than a commercial CAT 8 that is not optimised for music and movies and hence usually much cheaper). You can definitely hear a major difference with Purist if your equipment allows.

Manufacturer specifications: ultra high quality connectors to the cable (GG45 TERA); effective gauge is 26AWG; cable diameter is 6.9mm; conductor is stranded; dialectic Santoprene; Resistance 0.03281 ohms/FT; shielding level single crystal silver; shielding both individual pair and overall cable shield; material treatment (3x) Cryomag©; Ethernet signal 10/100 Base T, Gigabit Ethernet, 10 Gig Ethernet; estimated break-in 100 hours.

Much of that detail is outside of my expertise. However, I was able to try an identical 35 metre cable owned by a local SNA member in my system and it made a huge positive musical difference compared with an ordinary CAT 8 cable. For example, it was much cleaner with less noisy grunge and a quiet background, had better dynamics, and was engaging and far less fatiguing.

The current price of a custom made 35m length in the United States is US$2399 at The Cable Company which is well over A$3000. In the link below you need to enter ‘custom length’ and ‘standard’ for the version: https://www.thecableco.com/catalog/product/view/id/694/s/cat7-ethernet-cable/category/31/

(Australian retailers include Class A Audio and Absolute Hi End).

The picture of the satchel with serial number is the item for sale which I purchased new on 4 May 2024. The photo of the cable for sale has the original blue connector protection and the cable is tied with string (no extra charge!). Other close-up photos are available via website by the manufacturer and retailers.

I am only selling because the poor wifi in our large old stone house meant that there was sometimes a lag between my iphone selecting a track and the direct Ethernet connection to the streamer, so after much frustration I have had to move to a wifi7 mesh system. So I now use three smaller cables of the same type I am selling.

Happy to answer questions.

WARRANTY INFORMATION (Private Seller)

The item being advertised is sold "as is", and no warranty should be assumed unless otherwise indicated and agreed between the Buyer and the Seller. Photos representing the item being advertised form part of the description unless otherwise specified.

This content has been generated using AI analysis. While we strive to ensure accuracy and quality, AI-generated material may occasionally contain errors or omissions. All information should be independently verified, and opinions expressed do not necessarily reflect those of the publishers or editors.
Based on available user reviews and community discussions, the Purist Audio Design Diamond Revision CAT7 ethernet cable receives generally positive feedback, though opinions on ethernet cables for audio remain divided in the community.

## Sound Quality

Users consistently report noticeable sonic improvements after installing this cable. One reviewer stated it "disproved that theory in a most musical way" after initially believing ethernet cables wouldn't affect sound quality. Another user described hearing "shimmering detail, fine soundstage, and excellent, architectural and stentorian bass," noting it's "a very big sounding cable, in a good way." Additional testimonials highlight qualities like clarity, depth of soundstage, and responsiveness in the audio presentation.

## Build Quality

The cable receives strong praise for construction. It features hand-crafted manufacturing in the USA with premium materials including single crystal silver shielding, individual pair and overall cable shielding, and ultra-high quality GG45 TERA connectors. Users specifically commended "excellent" build quality, and the specifications indicate an estimated 100-hour break-in period.

## Value and Reputation

One reviewer considered it exceptional value for money, stating: "This is one of those cables that you can say without hesitation that it is a high-end product. Manufacturers have accustomed us to the fact that for 1,600 zlotys we can only dream about entering this exclusive club, but Purist Audio Design does not seem to care about the price barriers." The cable performed best overall in a comparative test despite not excelling in every individual category.

## Weaknesses and Skepticism

Not all feedback is uniformly positive. One audiophile forum user stated they "tried the Neptune Diamond Revision power cord and hated it," though they separately praised the Cat 7 ethernet cable, suggesting mixed experiences with the brand's product line. Additionally, some audiophiles question whether ethernet cable differences matter for audio at all, though this cable appears to have converted skeptics in practice.

# Fair Market Price Estimate: Purist Audio Design Diamond Revision CAT7 35m Ethernet Cable

Based on available market data, I cannot provide a reliable AUD price estimate for the 35-meter length of this cable, as the search results contain insufficient pricing information for this specific configuration.

## Available Price Data

The search results provide only limited pricing references:

- A 1.5-meter Purist Audio Design CAT7 Diamond Revision cable is listed at €550 (approximately AUD $900–950)
- A 20-meter Luminist Revision variant (different model) shows an original price of €1,000, discounted to €549

## Why This Estimate Is Unreliable

The 35-meter length you're asking about is significantly longer than the available data points. Pricing for Ethernet cables typically scales non-linearly with length due to:

- Material costs: Substantially more cable and shielding material required
- Manufacturing complexity: Hand-crafted construction becomes more labor-intensive
- Availability: Longer lengths may be custom-ordered rather than stocked inventory

Without direct market listings for 35-meter lengths, any price estimate would be speculative. The search results focus primarily on shorter standard lengths (1.5m, 5ft) marketed for audio applications.

## Recommendation

To obtain an accurate fair market price, contact authorized Purist Audio Design retailers directly or check specialist audio retailers in Australia, as custom length orders typically require individual quotation.
