A fabulous famous high-end Class -A New Zealand Power Amplifier that sounds incredible and has the punch and power to boot and has run every speaker I’ve tested it with even the very hard to drive speakers.
Great condition and no damage or marks etc I could see, some of the font is rubbed off around the mute button (see photos)
Its in perfect working order and hand built by Plinius to last for many many years to come.
It is its highly biased in Class-A more than any other amp I’ve had so it does get hot in Class-A mode!
Not an amp to leave boxed in a rack etc, it needs room to breath to disburse the heat. It can also be run in Class-AB mode (button on the front) to drop all the Class-A heat at the cost of 10-15% SQ drop (well to me). It auto switches to Class-AB mode if you leave it running with no music running in Class-A by mistake.
Welcome to audition for serious buyers only. Would recommend pickup due to the weight (nearly 40KGs) and don't have the original box or packaging. I can do a shipping quote via Pack and Send if wanted.
Brisbane area drop-off also available.

## Price Range by Condition
Used – Good/Excellent Condition: A$4,995 is the most recent documented market price for an as-new unit, while used units in good condition are listed around USD $4,365 (approximately A$6,700–A$7,000 at current exchange rates).
New/Original Retail: The manufacturer's original retail price was USD $7,830, which translates to approximately A$12,000–A$13,000 when accounting for historical AUD/USD conversion rates and Australian retail markups.
## Key Value Factors
The Plinius SA-103's market value is influenced by:
- Condition and service history: Units still under warranty or in as-new condition command premium prices closer to A$5,000, while those showing wear are discounted accordingly.
- Supply and rarity: The model is no longer in production, making it increasingly rare on the secondary market, which supports stable pricing.
- Specifications and performance: Its class-A biased design with flexible operation modes (125W class-A into 8 ohms, switchable to class-A/B, or bridged mono at 400W) makes it desirable among serious audiophiles.
- Geographic market: Australian domestic pricing (A$4,995) tends to be more favorable than importing from overseas dealers.
Conservative estimate: A$4,500–A$5,500 represents a realistic fair market range for a well-maintained used unit, with condition being the primary price determinant within this band.
