CANTON SMART SOUNDBAR 10 WITH ATMOS

Following Canton's Smart Soundbar 9 is the imaginatively named Smart Soundbar 10. The new, feature-packed soundbar delivers Dolby Atmos cinema sound, multi-room connectivity and music streaming via Wi-Fi as well as Bluetooth.

The top of the range Smart Soundbar 10 might be slender, but it packs in a host of advanced features.

Just like the Smart Soundbar 9, 10 keeps a low profile with a height of 7cm and depth of 10cm. However, it has 10cm more length, measuring 99cm.

Furthermore, as you would expect from a high-performance hi-fi loudspeaker, the new Canton soundbar's cabinet is constructed from reinforced MDF. Additionally, there's a heat-treated glass top and sleekly integrated metal grille at the front.

Smart Looks - Power Aplenty

Behind the glass is a touch-sensitive control panel which is flanked by two speaker grilles covering upward-firing drive units – a nod to the soundbar's Dolby Atmos credentials.

Shoe-horned into that well-made casement is 300 watts of amplification powering eight drive units. Here you get four bass drivers sporting 79mm aluminium cones and firing upwards, two of the four converting to full-range units when Dolby Atmos is engaged.

These are joined by two front-facing midrange drivers with 50mm aluminium cones, together with a pair of 19mm fabric-dome tweeters. The two additional passive bass drivers found in the Smart Soundbar 9 are not required here.

Dolby Atmos

The drive units work with a suite of sound processing options from Dolby and DTS. Dolby Atmos soundtracks utilise the upward-firing drivers to deliver an immersive soundstage. Also, 'Regular' Dolby Digital decoding is included, alongside DTS Digital Surround and DTS-HD. Alternatively, you can simply listen in two-channel stereo if you prefer.

Hook-ups

You can stream music via Google Chromecast and Spotify Connect built-in and support for hi-res audio up to 24-bit/96kHz over Wi-Fi and 24-bit/192kHz over HDMI is present and correct.

Thanks to Wi-Fi connectivity, you can also make the Smart Soundbar 10 part of a multi-speaker home cinema system or add it to a multi-room set-up.

If wired is more your thing, there's four HDMI ports – three inputs and one ARC-friendly output, all of which are HDCP 2.2-compliant. As well as those, there's a pair of digital audio inputs – one optical and one coaxial, together with a stereo RCA analogue input. A dedicated subwoofer output is also included.

Tailored Sound

Bass, midrange and treble controls enable you to tailor the sound according to taste. Addiitonally, three equaliser presets helps with further tweaking to suit the soundbar's location.
