There are two high-precision audio-specific crystal oscillators that reconstruct the clock for the HDMI Audio Only output port, with accurate sound reproduction, reduced jitter and improved audio quality with support for multi-channel DSD 64 Native output. Equipped with the Amlogic S928X-K chipset, 8GB of DDR4 RAM and 64GB eMMC of storage, the UHD8000 has two custom chips and digital separation technology to isolate interference.

Both the analog and digital circuits are powered by independent toroidal linear power supplies for clean power while reducing external magnetic field interference significantly.

Zidoo is the first to develop dual HDMI port audio-video separation technology based on this chipset. The dual HDMI port design allows for 4K video and HD audio to be enjoyed simultaneously without having to upgrade any existing AV receivers. The HDMI 2.1 ports allow for 8K60p to be output, and the player can support DSD512 and 32-bit 768kHz PCM decoding.

There are two hidden HDD bays that allow storage to be expanded up to 16TB per drive, for a total of 32TB. With Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 support, the UHD8000 can be connected to devices like speakers and headphones for wireless listening if needed.

The media player utilises a fully balanced design, with the RCA outputs, XLR outputs and DAC decoding all using the balanced output. This results in better noise immunity and improves the channel separation degree for a more stable signal quality.

On the software side of things, the UHD8000 supports streaming from a variety of services like Tidal, Qobuz, Amazon Music, Deezer, KKbox and more. It also supports wireless streaming via Tidal Connect and DLNA for music casting. There’s also a USB DAC input, which allows for the device to be used as a high-performance audio decoder when connected to an external music streamer with USB output.

The Zidoo UHD8000 will be available soon and is expected to sell for £1,099/ €1,399 RRP.
