WiiM has unveiled its WiiM Amp Ultra, which will join the popular WiiM Amp Pro and WiiM Ultra streaming pre-amp that have previously impressed us in reviews.

WiiM Amp Ultra is wrapped in an aluminium chassis and features a 3.5-inch glass-covered touchscreen. Although compact (200x75x200 mm), it claims to deliver 100W at 8 ohms and 200W per channel at 4 ohms, with "ultra-low distortion and rich, audiophile-grade sound."

Designed around the continued feedback of the WiiM community, the WiiM Amp Ultra builds on the streaming power enjoyed from the Amp Pro and combines it with the premium display experience introduced in the WiiM Ultra. We're told that this is "more than just a product upgrade", with the company insisting that the Amp Ultra "reinforces WiiM's mission to expand its ecosystem with more ways to personalise, connect, and power immersive multi-room audio experiences." So, there you go.

The WiiM Amp Ultra comes armed with a 32-bit/384kHz ESS ES9039Q2M SABRE DAC, dual TI TPA3255 Class-D amp chips, and six TI OPA1612 op-amps. Additionally, the manufacturer says that its post-filter feedback tech ensures stable, load-independent performance across all speaker types, delivering cleaner sound and improved amplifier control. This is said to result in "ultra-low distortion and rich, detailed sound." WiiM states a -106 dB THD+N rating and 120 dB SNR at 5W.

The fascia hosts a 3.5-inch glass-covered touchscreen offering playback controls, input switching, EQ settings, queue view, custom wallpapers, VU meters, Smart Preset, Recently Played, Internet Radio, and more. The other side of the front panel belongs to a multifunctional dial.

Through this you can access 24 preset EQ profiles, a 10-band graphic and parametric EQ with input-specific settings, plus built-in room correction that analyses your space and adjusts audio output for tonal balance across speakers and subwoofers.

In addition to receiving an output boost to a claimed 100W compared with the Amp Pro's 60W, the WiiM Amp Ultra is ready for 5.1 home cinema duties thanks to Dolby Digital decoding, HDMI ARC, and a dedicated subwoofer output. The press release says the Amp Ultra can power up to four passive loudspeakers, but there are only stereo speaker outputs. These join the aforementioned HDMI port, LAN connector, optical, USB and stereo RCA inputs.

Wireless connectivity comes by way of Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3 with LE Audio and dual antennas for fast and reliable wireless streaming.

The WiiM Amp Ultra supports Google Cast, Alexa Cast, DLNA, Spotify Connect, and TIDAL Connect, as well as streaming services such as Spotify, Amazon Music, TIDAL, Qobuz, and more via the WiiM Home App.

It also works with Alexa, Google Assistant, and the WiiM Voice Remote for hands-free control. Naturally, it pairs perfectly with the new WiiM Sound smart speakers and WiiM streamers for a complete setup within the broader WiiM Ecosystem.

Dr. Lifeng Zhao, CEO of WiiM, told StereoNET:

The WiiM Amp Ultra reflects the voice of our community. Our users wanted more power, refinement, and connectivity, without losing the high-fidelity audio, and we listened. This amplifier was designed for discerning listeners who want to elevate their setups with precision, clarity, and smarter connectivity.

The WiiM Amp Ultra, which includes the Voice Remote 2, will be available in Q3 2025 and showcased in Hall 2, Stand G07.
