THE HUMBLE CASSETTE TAPE IS BACK

We didn't think it could happen. The humble cassette tape appears to be poised for a comeback following in the footsteps of the vinyl revival.
TEAC, once the kings of the cassette player have dug deep into the archives to resurrect and develop a player, 'dubbed' the AD-850.
This combined cassette deck and CD player, which can also record to USB flash drives, includes a microphone jack with an echo function that can be used for karaoke.
The cassette/CD combo supports recording and playback in a wide array of combinations. You can record any source to USB flash drives, or record from external or Mic input, CD or USB to cassette.

TEAC says the cassette mechanism is "a two-head single one-way type" and supports cassette tapes in normal, chrome and metal (playback only) positions. The AD-850 also offers key functions including pitch control playback (±10% adjustment range).
The TEAC AD-850 is currently available overseas for USD 499.99 or £399. Australian pricing and availability are not yet known.
The renewed interest in the humble cassette tape, at least from millenials, can no doubt be attributed in part to the 2017 smash-hit from Netflix, 13 Reasons Why.
