T+A P 3100 HV Preamplifier Launched

T+A P 3100 HV Reference Quality Preamplifer Features Upgraded Power and Internals
Replacing the German-based company's P 3000 HV, the new P 3100 HV from T+A looks almost like its predecessor's twin. Until that is, you lift the aluminium lid.
Being part of T+A's HV series, HV standing for High Voltage, means that the new pre-amp is of "reference quality" and any improvements made on the outgoing model demands a high degree of engineering effort, says the brand.

The result is that the T+A P 3100 HV (£12,690) is kitted out with an entirely re-designed circuit board layout in the pre-amp section. Furthermore, the unit's new digital power supply is stronger and better shielded than previously. Additionally, the already oversized toroidal transformer has been increased to 115 VA for good measure.

Moreover, the P 3100 HV's complex circuit board layout eliminates the need for the relay volume coupling capacitors in the input and output stages found in the P3000. The upshot here is a refined signal path between the input stage, volume control and output stage. Also, the preamplifier board is absolutely voltage and temperature stable.
The result is a quoted signal/noise ratio of 108 / 112 dB and a total harmonic distortion of < 0,001%.

As well as the pre-amp RCA and XLR outputs, the T+A P 3100 HV offers a fascia-mounted 50 Ohm high-current headphone output. Inputs are covered by seven RCA and four balanced XLR.
The new P 3100 HV will be available from May 2020 with the of SRP of £12,690 / €13,500.
