The new range is positioned as the latest evolution of SVS’s long-running 3000 Series, designed to deliver reference-grade bass performance to a broader audience.

Building on the engineering introduced with the SVS 17-Ultra R|Evolution and the more recently launched SVS 5000 R|Evolution, the 3000 R|Evolution Series has been redesigned from the ground up. SVS says advances in driver design, amplification, power management, and DSP have enabled the new models to deliver deeper low-frequency extension, higher output, and improved transient accuracy compared with the previous generation.

At launch, the range comprises two models. The SVS SB-3000 R|Evolution is a sealed-box design intended to prioritise speed, control and musical accuracy. At the same time, the SVS PB-3000 R|Evolution uses a ported cabinet to deliver higher output and room-pressurising low-frequency performance for home cinema applications.

Shared to both models is an all-new 13-inch high-excursion SVS driver, developed specifically for the R|Evolution platform. The driver features a flat-edge wound split-wound voice coil designed to maximise magnetic force at high excursion while reducing moving mass. A toroidal ferrite magnet motor, an aluminium shorting ring, and a revised suspension geometry are used to maintain linearity and control at high output levels.

Powering the new driver is a 1,200-watt continuous, 4,000-plus-watt peak Class-D amplifier with a fully discrete MOSFET output stage. SVS notes that this approach, combined with a two-stage switch-mode power supply, is intended to deliver high current capability and stable performance from standard household power while maintaining tight control over the driver under demanding loads.

Signal processing is handled by a 295MHz Analog Devices DSP, which SVS describes as the most advanced processing platform it has yet deployed in a consumer subwoofer. The DSP underpins both performance and user control, enabling fine-grained tuning while maintaining low noise and high headroom through premium digital-to-analogue conversion.

System setup and calibration are managed via the SVS Subwoofer Control smartphone app, which provides access to level adjustment, crossover settings, phase and polarity, room gain compensation and up to six bands of parametric EQ. The PB-3000 R|Evolution also includes selectable port tuning modes. Balanced XLR inputs are provided alongside unbalanced RCA connections, allowing integration into both two-channel hi-fi and home theatre systems.

SVS President Gary Yacoubian said the new series builds on the popularity of the original 3000 Series while introducing a step-change in performance.

The original 3000 Series became some of the most popular subwoofers worldwide because they struck a rare balance between size, output and accuracy. With 3000 R|Evolution, we didn’t just improve that formula—we redefined it. Bringing flagship R|Evolution technology into this series allows us to deliver deeper bass, greater control and improved musicality, while enhancing the overall user experience.

SVS has also confirmed that an SVS Auto EQ feature will be added via an over-the-air firmware and app update. Using a smartphone’s built-in microphone or an optional external mic, the system will apply automated room correction to optimise in-room frequency response at the main listening position.

Pricing starts at A$2,999 | US$1,299 | £1,549 for the SB-3000 R|Evolution in Black Ash, rising to A$3,199 | US$1,349 | £1,649 for Gloss Black or Gloss White finishes | The PB-3000 R|Evolution is priced at A$3,999 | US$1,799 | £1,999 in Black Ash. Both models are expected to be available from mid-February.
