Held in the heart of Shanghai’s Lujiazui financial district overlooking the Huangpu River, the Shanghai International Top Audio-Visual Show (上海国际高端影音展) returns to the Shanghai International Convention Center (上海国际会议中心) and Oriental Riverside Hotel this weekend, continuing its reputation as one of China’s most influential exhibitions for high-end audio, home theatre and luxury AV brands.

While Munich’s and the new Vienna High End show often dominate the Western conversation around premium audio, TAS has increasingly become a useful lens into how the Chinese hi-fi market continues to evolve, particularly as domestic brands gain confidence alongside growing demand for premium two-channel audio, personal listening and immersive home cinema.

This year’s show is expected to bring together hundreds of brands covering everything from traditional high-end hi-fi and headphones through to streaming audio, smart home integration and custom-install solutions, with plenty of live demonstrations and regional product launches likely across the weekend.

Organisers are also leaning further into music culture and younger audiences this year, with a growing focus on gaming soundtracks, immersive listening sessions and vinyl collecting. Multiple game music appreciation events are planned across the weekend, reflecting how younger listeners increasingly discover high-performance audio through gaming, film scores and streaming platforms rather than traditional audiophile pathways.

The exhibition will also feature a large imported records zone showcasing rare international vinyl releases spanning classical music, film soundtracks and Western pop, including titles tied to La La Land, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke and other well-known recordings. Organisers say visitors will also be able to experience lacquer master discs firsthand, offering a taste of analogue audio at its most direct and uncompromised.
Beyond hardware, TAS 2026 also appears to be positioning itself increasingly as both a cultural and commercial meeting point for the wider Asian audio industry. International brands are expected to use the exhibition as an entry point into the Asia-Pacific market, while the Expert Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) will make its first major appearance at the show, hosting sessions focused on international promotion, awards and global market development.
Nearly 100 professional listening sessions, workshops and live events are expected across the exhibition, including a 48-hour film soundtrack production showcase featuring artists and composers working in emerging media and entertainment formats.
Marcus Yang, CEO of Dianyi Audio & Video Promotion Agency, the organiser of Shanghai TAS, shared with StereoNET:
Shanghai TAS continues to reflect the growing enthusiasm for high-quality audio experiences across China and Asia. The show has become more than just an exhibition for equipment; it is now a platform where music, technology and lifestyle increasingly intersect. We are excited to welcome both international and domestic brands back to Shanghai as the industry continues to evolve.
The show also arrives at a time when international attention around China’s premium consumer technology market continues to grow. For many audio brands, Asia is no longer viewed simply as a manufacturing hub, but increasingly as one of the industry’s most active and fast-moving enthusiast markets in its own right.

StereoNET Asia Editor Eugene Ng will be on the ground in Shanghai throughout the weekend covering the exhibition, with product highlights and show coverage. The 33rd Shanghai International Top Audio-Visual Show (TAS 2026) runs from May 15–17 at the Shanghai International Convention Center & Oriental Riverside Hotel in Shanghai, China.
