You likely haven't heard of Ferrum since the brand only emerged in 2020, but its parent company, HEM, was founded more than 20 years ago. That company was also the designer and manufacturer of the world-renowned Mytek brand, until recently.

Ferrum says it set out to combine sustainability, durability and quality into compact yet attractive packages, focused on one thing only: delivering the best possible audio experience at an affordable price level. Ferrum's first product, Hypsos, takes a new look at the very beginning of the audio chain, the power source.

Technology aside, the Hypsos is one of the most attractive accessory components to hit the market. The stunning looks come thanks to the use of Corten steel, complemented with the black anodised aluminium front panel.

The Hypsos is a hybrid power system, combining the best features of both linear and switching power supplies. This attractively designed and compact power system can power most hi-fi products with a DC power input. But no longer do you need to order a specific model of aftermarket power supply. The Hypsos conveniently allows you to set the proper values with a simple dial turn, while the display gives you relevant information.

The software-controlled operation is said to be an industry first. Adding to the feature list is power sensing technology that ensures safe operation. Hypsos comes with a high-quality DC power cable fitted to order, which enables connection to most popular audio components.

Specs are 100-240V input voltage, 5-30V adjustable DC output, 6A/60 power rating. The Hypsos measures just 217x206x50mm (WxDxH).

Available now, the Ferrum Hypsos sells in Australia for $1,499 RRP. Ferrum and Mytek are exclusively distributed in Australia by Melbourne's Sound And Music, and only products sold by its dealers are officially supported.
