Revival Audio's new Sprint series consists of the Sprint 3 two-way bookshelf loudspeaker and its 2.5-way floorstanding stablemate, the Sprint 4. Both boast Revival's "innovative Elytron Acoustic Baffle design", a lightweight, high-strength material crafted asymmetrically to "guide the soundwaves as they leave the speaker." Revival claims this "optimises the mid and low frequencies by reducing the diffraction from the speaker cabinet while minimising the impact from different listening environments."

We're told that the French loudspeaker company is born from almost four decades of expertise and know-how behind many top-tier speaker brands based in France, Denmark and the USA.

Following on from the high-end Atalante range, its new Sprint 3 and 4 models feature a 28mm soft-dome tweeter with Revival's patented ARID (Anti Reflection Inner Dome) tech that promises to absorb unwanted resonances. Both also utilise Basalt Sandwich Construction 7-inch (17.8cm) woofers for their "rigid and lightweight design."

The Sprint 4 floorstander has foot spikes for stability, vibration absorption and better sound imaging. Meanwhile, Sprint 3 can be placed on Revival's optional speaker stands.

The 380mm x 213mm x 307mm Sprint 3 has a stated frequency response of 55Hz-22kHz (+/- 3dB) and a 6-ohm nominal impedance, whereas the Sprint 4 measures 1060mm x 213mm x 307mm and claims a nominal impedance of 4 ohms and 45Hz-22kHz frequency response with crossovers at 1.6kHz and 2.2kHz.

Unapologetically retro in aesthetics and co-designed with the award-winning A+A Cooren Design Studio, the Sprint series speakers are offered in Blonde Oak, Walnut, or Matte Black finishes and become available this month. The Revival Audio Sprint 3 is priced at £895/ €990 (stands are a £339/ €399 optional extra), while the Sprint 4 costs £1,650/ €1,790.
