Revival Audio's Atalante 4 is a 3-way, 1200 mm x 345 mm x 395 mm (HxWxD) loudspeaker the French company says will "redefine performance perfection" while completing the Atalante range.
We are told that Atalante 4 best suits rooms of around 30 to 50 m2, with the typically chic cabinets housing the company's own 28mm RASC soft-dome tweeter, 13.5 (5¼-inch) BSC (Basalt Sandwich Construction) midrange driver and a pair of 18cm (7-inch) BSC woofers with the "hand-tuned" crossover featuring Van den Hul Skyline Hybrid cables allocating duties at 550Hz and 3.0kHz.
The spec sheet lists a claimed frequency response (+/-3db) of 38Hz – 26kHz (-3dB). The Atalante 4's (2.83V/1m) 89dB/2.83V/1 metre sensitivity and 4ohm nominal impedance have Revival stating that anything from a 30W amplifier should suit these towers, adding that the new floorstanders will handle up to 200W of power output.
Revival Audio's 28mm domed tweeter is featured in the manufacturer's other models and is coated in a "secret recipe. " It also boasts Revival Audio's ARID (Anti Reflection Inner Dome) patented damping tech, which is said to absorb 95+% of resonance in the large back chamber, which, we're told, has a low resonance frequency of 650Hz.
Meanwhile, the BSC mid and woofers are proudly declared to be " the first ever in high-end" and feature "unique and iconic (visually too) technology." Basalt is extracted from lava stone, and we are assured that it shares characteristics similar to glass fibre but sports a better Young modulus.
Finally, Revival Audio uses oversized ferrite magnets for its drivers, claiming they are more eco-friendly and offer a "real balanced output."
