Pro-Ject Refreshes Colourful Audio System 2 with Polar Blue Finish

All-in-one vinyl system gains a fresh hue and remains tuned for high-fidelity ease.

Pro-Ject has given its Colourful Audio System 2 a cool new look with the introduction of a Polar Blue finish — a shade that feels equal parts playful and premium. The company’s all-in-one vinyl system was already one of the most straightforward ways to get serious hi-fi sound without system-matching headaches, and this latest version aims to makes it look as good as it sounds.

When StereoNET first reported on the Colourful Audio Systems earlier this year, Pro-Ject launched two models — the System 2 and the more affordable System E — we described them as “expertly curated combinations of high-quality components… making authentic stereo sound and the enduring wonder of vinyl immediately accessible.”
In this new Polar Blue edition, the familiar recipe remains unchanged. Take one Debut EVO 2 turntable, fold in a MaiA S3 integrated amplifier, and serve with a helping of Speaker Box 5 S2 loudspeakers. Finish with a dash of premium cables and accessories, and you’ve got everything you need to start spinning straight out of the box. It’s a setup designed to remove friction from the vinyl experience, yet still deliver the kind of sonic integrity that Pro-Ject has built its reputation on.

The Debut EVO 2 continues as a refined evolution of one of Pro-Ject’s most popular turntable platforms. Built with a precision-machined MDF plinth, balanced platter, and upgraded motor suspension, it aims for quiet, stable playback and high transparency. Each unit ships with a factory-fitted MM EVO cartridge, minimising setup complexity.

The MaiA S3 integrated amplifier supports the turntable via its built-in phono stage and extends functionality with Bluetooth 5.0 (aptX HD) and multiple digital and analogue inputs. It promises detailed, dynamic sound while occupying a compact footprint.
Completing the system are Pro-Ject’s Speaker Box 5 S2 bookshelf loudspeakers, which pair a 25 mm silk-dome tweeter with a 130 mm fibreglass-cone woofer. The design emphasises clarity in the highs, full-bodied mids, and controlled bass, with cabinets constructed in Europe from eco-conscious materials.

The accessory bundle aligns with Pro-Ject’s plug-and-play philosophy. Included are Connect-It LS E solid-core oxygen-free copper speaker cables, a Connect-It E Phono 5P RCA interconnect with full shielding, and six Damp-It isolation feet — three per speaker — to reduce vibration and improve clarity.
Although the system is aimed at those who want to set it up and enjoy it as is, Pro-Ject highlights the upgrade path inherent in its design. Owners can experiment with new cartridges, isolation options, or even amplification, while preserving the synergy of the system’s foundation — a clever way of introducing new listeners to the art of tweaking.

The Pro-Ject Colourful Audio System 2 – Polar Blue Edition is available now, priced at £1,799 with additional regional pricing to be confirmed shortly.
