Piega has announced its new Ace series which the Swiss speaker company pitches as the most affordable aluminium cabinet Piega loudspeaker to date.

Piega's Ace features aesthetics by legendary Swiss designer Stephan Hürlemann and acoustics developed at Piega's Lake Zurich based factory. Additionally, the Ace benefits from technology and acoustic development trickled down from the Master, Coax and Premium models.

The Ace series consists of the Ace 50, a slim, one-metre tall floorstanding loudspeaker, the Ace 30, a compact satellite loudspeaker with a baffle measuring the same as an A5 sheet of paper, and the Ace Centre landscape format speaker for cinema systems. All Ace cabinets are just 14cm wide and 16cm deep with an oval aluminium profile. Furthermore, there are no visible seams, angles or fixings to ruin that sleek aesthetic.

The braced aluminium cabinets have been specially developed for this range and optimised for the 120mm MDS mid/bass drivers common to all three models with the Ace 50 boasting three of them - two for bass and one for mids. The Ace trio also share the tried and tested Piega AMT-1 Air Motion Transformer for the high-frequencies. This extremely light, large surface area ribbon tweeter is driven by a potent neodymium motor assembly, to create a detailed and fluid upper-frequency response.
The 2-way Piega Ace 30 has a quoted 87 db/W/m sensitivity and a 50 Hz–40 kHz frequency response. Meanwhile, the Ace 50 3-way design has a stated sensitivity of 90 db/W/m and 45 Hz-40kHz frequency range. Both run at 4 ohms impedance.

The Piega Ace series is available in the UK from late February in three finishes - Natural aluminium with a grey fabric grille, Anodised black with a black grille, and High gloss white with a white grille. Prices are as follows:
- Ace 30 - £980 per pair
- Ace 50 - £1,980 per pair
- Ace CENTER - £590 each
